The enigmatic nomads that provided information during the Valley Forge's search and rescue mission has become the latest victims of the Azedi. Now, it is the Valley Forge's turn to assist them and prove that their trust is not misplaced...

Keliaya@anncarise FX | The Valley Forge cruises alongside allied ships as their mission of exploration continues. Keliaya@anncarise | Now aware of the boundaries of the Confederacy of Azed, the Federation vessels make sure to avoid their territory as they continue charting new regions. Muirgen@BobSagetYYZ walks into the bridge, to the helm station. "I'm your relief," she says to Ensign Random. She sits and sets everything up for her. Mi'shune@1nONLY_DRock: <C> "Baton Rouge reporting in. So far, nothing out of the ordinary." Keelah@crystyll sits contentedly reviewing status reports, allowing her bridge crew to go about their duties Alistair Nimitz@natthaan has said much of anything yet, since there is nothing for him to report about. Keliaya@anncarise looks to Keelah, "That planet geology identified a few weeks back as being potentially rich in resources is about two days away." Keliaya@anncarise: "It's a bit of a diversion from our current course, but could be worth checking out." Mi'shune@1nONLY_DRock: <C> "Are you kidding me? My science department has been begging for something to do. A planetary survey is just what they need." Keelah@crystyll: <C> Sounds like a perfect opportunity for you then Keelah@crystyll looks back, "Kelly, forward our preliminary data to the Baton Rouge. Perhaps they will be able to make use of it after this outing" Alistair Nimitz@natthaan more then likely has the Captain Locra being told about the space whale look on his face about the whole thing. Keliaya@anncarise nods and taps on her console, sending the data to Baton Rouge, "On it, Captain." Keliaya@anncarise: "And sent." Muirgen@BobSagetYYZ clears her throat. "Uh, Captain? We've got...uh. Sixteen warp signatures, on intercept course." Mi'shune@1nONLY_DRock: <C> "Received. Alright, let's see what we can do with it...." Muirgen@BobSagetYYZ continues, "Looks they're going Warp 4. One's a bit...unstable." Keelah@crystyll turns a curious frown to the front, "Can we get an ID on them?" Mi'shune@1nONLY_DRock: <C> "...to be continued. Ops, get me some ID's on those ships." Kiera@falconecoose quickly taps on her console to start scanning the incoming signatures to attempt to ID them Alistair Nimitz@natthaan folds his arms as he waits for his people to report in. Muirgen@BobSagetYYZ shakes her head. "Not at the moment, I'm working the IFF, though." Alistair Nimitz@natthaan: "Umm.. they seem to be space whales.." Mi'shune@1nONLY_DRock: "Don't bother. Unless they're breen or undine of course. I'm getting biosignatures." Alistair Nimitz@natthaan now he has the Captain Locra look on his face. Keelah@crystyll: "Space whales...? Oh..." Muirgen@BobSagetYYZ frouns. "Uh. Negative IFF. As in...No IFF. On any frequencies." Mi'shune@1nONLY_DRock: <C> "Pure cosmozoans. Which species... can't tell." Kiera@falconecoose: "Captain, they appear to be bioships as IDed, and they match the scans of a species encountered by the Valley Forge 2 years ago. Identified as the 'Tik' " Muirgen@BobSagetYYZ overhears and updates the contact reports to Tik'. Keliaya@anncarise: "The Tiks? I thought they usually gave a wide berth to anything using mechanical technology... Keelah@crystyll: "That was certainly the impression we were given last time. Try and establish comms with the lead vessel" Keliaya@anncarise taps her console, "Confirming one of the warp bubbles of the Tik cosmozoan ships appear to have a rapidy deteriorating warp bubble." Keliaya@anncarise: ((THat was badly worded!)) Alistair Nimitz@natthaan looks over and seems to be talking to an officer on his crew. Keliaya@anncarise: * "Confirming one of the warp bubbles of the Tik cosmozoan ships appear to be rapidly deteriorating." Kiera@falconecoose: "Yes Captain, attempting to contact them now." Muirgen@BobSagetYYZ: "Just dropped out of warp. They're five minutes out." Mi'shune@1nONLY_DRock: <C> "You're telling me one of those creature's is dying? Anyone bring a cosmozoan vet?" Keelah@crystyll: "Hold your course Lieutenant" turning to Mi'shune, "I am regrettably unaware of anyone on board with such a speciality" Kiera@falconecoose: "Captain I have them on hailing frequencies, they are responding." Keliaya@anncarise: "We have xenobiologists...but no one specializing in cosmozoans." Muirgen@BobSagetYYZ: "Maintain course, aye." Keelah@crystyll: "Open the channel" she nods Keliaya@anncarise | A series of clicking noises come through (it's obvious why they're called Tiks) which are quickly translated by the computer. Keliaya@anncarise | Transmission: "They hurt a God. A God needs assistance." Keelah@crystyll looks to the other CO's before responding, "If I recall correctly, they consider the cozmozoans as their Gods" Keliaya@anncarise | Transmission: "You use metal but you have proven you mean no harm. We have assisted you. Now a God needs assistance. You are its best hope" Muirgen@BobSagetYYZ: "Captain, we're closing in on their location." Keelah@crystyll: <C> This is Captain Se'Lai on the Valley Forge. We do indeed remember your previous assistance and stand by assist. Can you provide us any detailed information as to how the... 'God' is hurt?" Alistair Nimitz@natthaan looks to Keelah "I do have a Xindi-Aquarius on my crew, our doctor might know how to treat one of the cozmonzoans?" Mi'shune@1nONLY_DRock: <C> "I'll talk to my Xenobiologist." Keelah@crystyll: "I'd say it's certainly worth investigating. We'll need all the specialist help we can muster here I think" Keliaya@anncarise | Transmission: "Constructs of metal and energy attacked our Gods." Keelah@crystyll: "Lieutenant FInney. Match course and speed with the Cozmozoans; bring us alongside the injured one, but maintain distance from it" Mi'shune@1nONLY_DRock: <C> "Helm match course. Keep overwatch. Ops, if those 'constructs of metal' make another pass at these creatures I want to know about it first." Keelah@crystyll: <C> If you have any data on the nature of the constructs which attacked you, it may help us to render aid" Muirgen@BobSagetYYZ nods. "Match course and speed, aye." She banks the ship around, matching course and speed with the injured one. She sets the ship at a comfortable distance of 15 km off the Tik's starboard beam. Keliaya@anncarise FX | The ships drop out of warp alongside the cosmozoans. Most of the herd is moving at impulse speeds around the injured one, whose movements appear much more erratic, often swaying side to side - Alistair Nimitz@natthaan: "I'm sending over my doctors and a marine biologist team to help." Keliaya@anncarise - or suddenly bursting forward in speed. Keliaya@anncarise: "We should let them know before we beam anyone over. They're...a little xenophobic. Not in a violent way from what we've seen, but we probably don't want to surprise them." Muirgen@BobSagetYYZ motions further away, to allow the healthy Tiks some leeway to circle the injured one. Keelah@crystyll observes the erratic flight pattern, "Hold us steady L-T. Let it see that we pose no threat" Keliaya@anncarise FX | As the ships move alongside the injured one, a visible burn mark can be seen on not one side of the cosmozoan, but both. Keelah@crystyll: <C> In order to effectively aid you, we must transport our people over. Please provide acceptance and coordinates" Muirgen@BobSagetYYZ nods. "Understood. Not making any sudden movements. Keelah@crystyll: "Laski, see if you can learn anything from the damage to that thing" Keliaya@anncarise taps her console, "The surface appears to have healed, but the damage seems to have been penetrating. And...I'm detecting traces of neutrino and verteron particles." Keelah@crystyll doubletakes to Kelly and back, "...or, from that" she chuckles Kiera@falconecoose: "Captains, my scans show that the damage pattern is consistent with what we have seen of Azedi bream weapons." Keliaya@anncarise | Transmission: "Coordinates sent." Keelah@crystyll: <C> Thank you. Our people will be arriving with you shortly Keelah@crystyll gives the nod to close the channel, focusing on Kiera, "Azedi, are we certain?" Keliaya@anncarise FX | Scans of the cosmozoan ships show the coordinates to be filled with water. Kiera@falconecoose nods slightly "Aye Captain, Kiera is certain of the result of our scans." Mi'shune@1nONLY_DRock: <C> "Break out the EVA suits." Keliaya@anncarise: "It explains the neutrino and verteron particles. These are known to occur with Azedi wormholes..." Keliaya@anncarise: "This cosmozoan was likely exposed to one of these at relatively close range." Keelah@crystyll nods slowly, "I see... a troubling revelation, but not entirely unexpected" Keelah@crystyll: "Well then, EV suits it is. The sooner we get this thing fixed up the sooner we can all be on our way" Alistair Nimitz@natthaan: "Been a while since I've been under water..." Keelah@crystyll: "Alright, away team report to the transporter room. We'll convene with the Akagi and Baton Rouge teams over there" Mi'shune@1nONLY_DRock: <C> "Copy that. See you in the water." Keliaya@anncarise: "I've notified science and they're assigning a xenobiology expert as well to the team." Keelah@crystyll: <C> I'll remain here and co-ordinate a defensive perimeter. Just in case any unwelcome guests show up" Muirgen@BobSagetYYZ looks to Keelah. "Need me here or with the away team?" Keliaya@anncarise: "The Lieutenant did good work assisting medical the last time we were on an away mission." Keelah@crystyll hrms, "Ordinarily I'd say remain here LT, but seeing how that thing has been moving they may need assistance with flight systems... or the closest they have to them" Keelah@crystyll nods to Kelly's input, "That she did..." she smiles, "Report for the away team, LT" Muirgen@BobSagetYYZ nods. "Flight ganglia. Understood." She steps away from the console and heads off to change to the EV suit. --- Trenick@annpc#5570 FX | The away team beams down into an uncomfortably organic interior filled with water. It feels like the inside of something's body. The walls contrast and pulse and the water flows through the - Trenick@annpc#5570 - room in steady currents, not enough to destabilize anyone but enough to be felt. There appears to be no gravity, and mag-locks do not work due to the lack of metal. Mi'shune@1nONLY_DRock: "Fantastic voyage, anyone?" Trenick@annpc#5570: "This is...different from the aquatic environments I've been in." Muirgen@BobSagetYYZ rolls her eyes. "Yeah, but that was science fiction. This is reality." Mia@crystyll ripplies into view after the drone materializes, gazing around in awe, "Fantastic it certainly is!" Trenick@annpc#5570 FX | Two creatures resembling giant shrimp floats up to the team. Trenick@annpc#5570 | Muirgen@BobSagetYYZ turns to look at the giant shrimp. She waves, tentatively. "Hi...?" Mi'shune@1nONLY_DRock: "Does... this particular species have symbiotic organisms living within it?" Alistair Nimitz@natthaan arches a brow under his face plate, trying not to think about the fact he just ate shrimp for lunch a few hours ago. Trenick@annpc#5570 | They pause in front of the team. One of them clicks with its claws, producing a series of noises that translate in the UT: "You are here to assist?" Trenick@annpc#5570 looks to Miki, "I believe these symbiotic lifeforms are the Tiks we've been communicating with...and the cosmozoans are their ships." Trenick@annpc#5570 | Tik 1: "They are our Gods. They allow us to traverse the void sea. They are not tools like your metal abominations." Trenick@annpc#5570 nods, "Apologies." Trenick@annpc#5570 FX | The whole area shutters, and a violent currently suddenly rushes through, slamming everyone backwards! Mi'shune@1nONLY_DRock: "I... see.... wwhhhoooaaaaaaaa..." Trenick@annpc#5570: *current Trenick@annpc#5570 | Tik 1: "Our God is dying. It needs help." Mia@crystyll remains stationary, the drone reacting to keep in range of the avatar Muirgen@BobSagetYYZ drifts backward. She does her best to swim to remain stationary,. Alistair Nimitz@natthaan nods "We best hurry our work quickly.." Trenick@annpc#5570 swims rather adeptly. Trenick@annpc#5570 | Tik 2: "Yes. We will guide you to the injury." Trenick@annpc#5570 | Both Tiks swim past the group and down a passageway. Mi'shune@1nONLY_DRock swims behind the Tik, quite at home and graceful in the water. Muirgen@BobSagetYYZ follows the Tik's, swiming carefully. Mia@crystyll casually strolls along with the swimmers Trenick@annpc#5570 FX | For most, swimming through the corridors of the Tik ship would be disorientating if not downright uncomfortable. The passageways go in various directions and without gravity giving a sense - Trenick@annpc#5570 - of up or down, they would long have gotten lost without their local guides. As for the aesthetics...the halls continue the organic appearance, and they feel like they're moving through the - @universal_blue has logged on. Trenick@annpc#5570 - blood vessels of something. The nastier passageways are lined with markings and have various other objects flowing through them- almost all organic. Trenick@annpc#5570: "I believe the Tiks are using the circulatory system of these creatures as their means of mobility." Trenick@annpc#5570: "Interesting...very interesting." Muirgen@BobSagetYYZ does her best to keep up. "Are we gonna run into over-zealous white cells?" Mia@crystyll is running continuous scans from the drone as they progress Trenick@annpc#5570 | Tik 1: "The God's body will not harm you. We have ensured that." Mi'shune@1nONLY_DRock: "Oh good. We're not a disease. That's comforting." Muirgen@BobSagetYYZ hmms. "You know, I'm surprised that translated over." Mia@crystyll: "We appreciate the consideration" she attempts to respond, emanating the click language with micro-pulses from the drone's nose attachment Alistair Nimitz@natthaan: "Just remind me to get checked out before I hold Herra again.." Trenick@annpc#5570 | Tik 1: "Normally your metal abominations would be quarantined and ejected from the system. But we have prepared for your arrival." Trenick@annpc#5570 | Soon they come upon a busier part of the ship with numerous other Tiks going past them. Many of the Tiks appear to be holding tools in their pincers, but they took look wholly organic Trenick@annpc#5570 | Tik 2: "We are nearly at the injury." Trenick@annpc#5570 | Another current, stronger than any they've felt before, rushes down the passageway, pushing everyone back some distance from their destination, even the Tiks. Trenick@annpc#5570 | Tik 1: "It is getting worse." Trenick@annpc#5570 | Tik 2: "Are you sure they will be able to repair the damage?" Trenick@annpc#5570 | Tik 1: "We have to try to save the God." Muirgen@BobSagetYYZ is knocked back, doing a couple of lazy backflips. She swims as best she cna to her original position. Trenick@annpc#5570 | The Tiks recover quickly and begin leading the way again. Mi'shune@1nONLY_DRock laughs. "I don't want to belittle the situation here, but that swim was FUN!" Mia@crystyll 's image flickers briefly as the drone is pushed out of comfortable range Trenick@annpc#5570 | Tik 2: "I was not aware non-aquatics enjoyed our environments." Trenick@annpc#5570 | Tik 1: "Indeed. Environments without dihydrogen monoxide is very confusing for us." Muirgen@BobSagetYYZ hms. "We enjoy new and unique experiences." Mi'shune@1nONLY_DRock: "Part swim, part waterslide!" Trenick@annpc#5570 FX | They arrive at the damaged area, a massive puncture through the body of the cosmozoan. Though the exit points have been sealed, the interior is in very poor shape. - Mia@crystyll: "Not every Federation species is non-aquatic, in fact some of our ships have aquatic personnel too!" Alistair Nimitz@natthaan: "One of my engineers is a member of a species called the Xindi-Aquarius." Trenick@annpc#5570 | Burned scar tissue line both sides of the wound, and the liquid here seem thicker and almost sickly. A massive number of Tiks can be seen within the wound, trying to do their best to tend to - Trenick@annpc#5570 - their bioship. Trenick@annpc#5570 looks to Nimitz, "You have an aquatic on your ship?" Trenick@annpc#5570: "It has been a long time before I have spoken to one. Not since I left New Xindus, in fact." Alistair Nimitz@natthaan nods to Trenick "We call him Bob.. apperently that's the best translationg of his name." Alistair Nimitz@natthaan: translation* Trenick@annpc#5570 chuckles, "Ah yes, their names. You would have trouble with them. Even some of us have trouble with them." Mia@crystyll conducts a focus scan of the injury Alistair Nimitz@natthaan keeps himself out of the way as the others work. Muirgen@BobSagetYYZ watches the work going on. "This is..strange. Uh. If you need my help, let me know." Mi'shune@1nONLY_DRock gapes in awe at the scale of it all. "It's just so huge. And it's not like we can put a bandage or protoplaster on it." Trenick@annpc#5570: "It's certainly not like anything I've seen before. We're going to need tissue regenerators the size of shuttles to heal this..." Trenick@annpc#5570 takes out a tricorder and scans the area. Mia@crystyll: "Our scans indicate damage to secondary organs, affecting environmental management, or their equivalent to life support" Mia@crystyll: "We believe the warp field fluctuation is resulting from a loss of critical fluids, like a severe energy drain from a biological lifeform losing too much blood" Trenick@annpc#5570: "And even though the exterior wounds are healed, the massive internal bleeding is likely to continue causing imbalances if not fixed..." Mi'shune@1nONLY_DRock: "Can we reinfuse what was lost? It's not like it's going anywhere but space." Muirgen@BobSagetYYZ hmms, and nods. "Should be well-preserved, if a little cold." Mia@crystyll: "We shall transmit a sample analysis back to the ship, perhaps they can scan the other cosmozoans for a comparative analysis" Trenick@annpc#5570: "We can, but it's not just a matter of resources. This is a living creature. A blood transfer may help a patient but it will not save them if their organs remain inactive." Mia@crystyll: "So how do we go about repairing damage on this scale?" Trenick@annpc#5570: "A ship or shuttle's phasers can likely act as a substitute for a surgical knife on this scale..." Alistair Nimitz@natthaan: "I'm not a doctor or an engineer.. but it seems like we could use a giant dermal regenerator right about now....." Mia@crystyll: "Would that not require reopening it's wound from the outside though?" Trenick@annpc#5570: "It would...and it would also require creating a replacement organ." Alistair Nimitz@natthaan looks to Miki "I wonder if one of our ships could use the main deflector dish as a dermal regenerator?" Trenick@annpc#5570: "A regenerator would be helpful in sealing the wound, but we need the organ to be working as well." Mi'shune@1nONLY_DRock: "Couldn't we boost the power on an existing regenerator?" Mia@crystyll: "Would that be a standard treatment for a humanoid in this condition; to replace the organ with, we suppose an artificial replacement?" Muirgen@BobSagetYYZ: "Do we even know what we'd be replacing?" Trenick@annpc#5570: "We can grow a replacement as well, but in an emergency situation like this...artificial is usually how we respond." Mia@crystyll: "Based on our scan data; an equatable humanoid organ would be a kidney" Muirgen@BobSagetYYZ hmms. "I mean, if it's their equivalent of a warp core, I bet we'd be able to hook that in, somehow." Trenick@annpc#5570: "I don't think we have any technology that can be readily substituted. But creating something will be faster than growing something, and time is not on the cosmozoan's side." Muirgen@BobSagetYYZ: "So...a water purification and waste removal or disposal organ. What about any of the water purifiers on the ships?" Trenick@annpc#5570: "I'm not as familiar with ships as I am with lifeforms. Mia?" Mi'shune@1nONLY_DRock gasps, "We're essentially making a dialysys machine!" Mia@crystyll: "That... may be feasible, lieutenant! The base functionality is the same after all so one could - in theory - be repurposed!" Mia@crystyll: "But..." she looks to the giant shrimp guys, "...we are uncertain how the patient's custodians may feel about such a procedure..." Muirgen@BobSagetYYZ hmphs. "Dialysys? Like, the middle ages?" Trenick@annpc#5570 | Tik 2: "We cannot have a mechanical abomination in our God!" Mi'shune@1nONLY_DRock: "Ummm... outside my expertise... does it have to be permanent?" Mia@crystyll: "We lack the biological understanding of this race to draw a conclusion..." Trenick@annpc#5570: "Not necessarily...but in medical practice it's generally better to limit the number of surgeries." Muirgen@BobSagetYYZ hmms, then looks to one of the Tiks. "How many of these organs do your gods have?" Alistair Nimitz@natthaan looks to Tik 2 "Sometimes having a mechanical replacement is the only way to stay alive, my myself have several such things in my body now." Trenick@annpc#5570 | Tik 1: "Only one in each God. That is our predicament." Alistair Nimitz@natthaan: I myself* Muirgen@BobSagetYYZ nods. "How large are they?" Trenick@annpc#5570 | Tik 2: "24 [untranslatable] units." Muirgen@BobSagetYYZ blinks. "Should've expected that." Trenick@annpc#5570: "We've...had a history of not understanding Tik measurements." Mia@crystyll chuckles a little Muirgen@BobSagetYYZ hmms. "Well, uh. How many Tik body lengths?" Mia@crystyll: "Surely though, if it means the difference between your God surviving or not... is it not worth permitting the incorporated technology, even then?" Trenick@annpc#5570 | Tik 1: "It spans approximately...ten Tiks." Muirgen@BobSagetYYZ nods. "See? 2.4 Tik per...whatever unit they used." Muirgen@BobSagetYYZ: "Looks like it'd be about 15 meters." Mia@crystyll: "Nicely done Ms. Muirgen!" Trenick@annpc#5570 | Tik 2: "That is a difficult decision. We do not wish our God to die...but would our God still be itself if it is corrupted?" Mia@crystyll: "Well... your God is a living creature in it's own right, and you have previously stated how it allows you reside as you do and travel the black void. So, can it provide it's own judgement?" Alistair Nimitz@natthaan looks to Tik2 "I am still the same man I was before I had my body parts replaced." Muirgen@BobSagetYYZ: "Hey, wait a minute. Could we make the dialysis machine out of carbon?" Muirgen@BobSagetYYZ: "Like...Nanotubes and fibers and such." Trenick@annpc#5570 | Tik 1: "It is not able to communicate such in-depth ideas." Mia@crystyll: "Where's a friendly Vulcan when you need one... c'est la vie..." Trenick@annpc#5570 | Tik 2: "But we have used mechanical constructs in the past. They have brought only ruin to us and the Gods." Muirgen@BobSagetYYZ: "Sure, but if it's made out of carbon...it'll be organic." Trenick@annpc#5570 | Tik 2: "Order is not determined solely by the material utilized." Trenick@annpc#5570 | Tik 1: "We asked for their assistance. We knew we should have to compromise order to some extent." Mia@crystyll: "Well ultimately, a decision must be made; one which we can not make for you. All we can do is offer you our best solution" Mia@crystyll: "For reassurance, we believe it possible to provide additional instruction on safely removing any implanted technology at a later date, should your God heal sufficiently or you change your minds" Trenick@annpc#5570 | Tik 2: "Convey this to the others." Muirgen@BobSagetYYZ: "We can probably make it so that, once the God's kidney works again, the God can then eject the machine we put in." Trenick@annpc#5570 | The other Tik turns and clicks both its pincers together, sending massive shockwaves rippling through the water. Trenick@annpc#5570 | A few moments later, shockwaves return from all corners of the ship. Trenick@annpc#5570: "Amazing...their pincers are capable of much longer distance communication...perhaps even as defensive mechanisms." Trenick@annpc#5570 | Tik 2: "In liquid, sonic projection is a form of defense we have evolved to utilize." Muirgen@BobSagetYYZ laughs. "Pistol shrimp!" Mi'shune@1nONLY_DRock: "A disruptor pistol." Trenick@annpc#5570 | Tik 1 turns to the away team as the shockwaves stop, "Most Tik have already been evacuated to the others. The only other alternative would be to evacuate the remainder and leave the God to die - Mia@crystyll pouts at the thought of leaving the creature to die Trenick@annpc#5570 - naturally. There are some who advocate for this, but...we are willing to give a chance. Most Tik are no longer on this God anyways." Trenick@annpc#5570 | Tik 1: "For now, we will travel on the other Gods save a small number looking after this one. If the God displays visible corruption, we will abandon it." Trenick@annpc#5570 | Tik 1: "Conduct your procedure, and we will judge from the results. Otherwise, the God will perish anyways." Mia@crystyll: "We have already communicated the requirements to the ship and they have teams preparing the purifiers now" Muirgen@BobSagetYYZ grins. "Great. So now we've got permission...now we just need to build a super-size dialysis..." She looks to Mia. "You know, I forget you can do that." Mia@crystyll beams proudly, "Our existence has it's advantages!" Trenick@annpc#5570: "With the indicated size, we might be able to just use our cargo transporters to beam it into the wound...it certainly looks large enough." Trenick@annpc#5570: "It's safer than reopening the wound." Trenick@annpc#5570 | Tik 2: "Once the replacement is installed, we should be able to mend the remainder of the tissue slowly. Our team will remain on this God and monitor its progress." Mia@crystyll: "Given that we do not require EVA support, we volunteer to remain with the Tik teams to prepare the installation site" Trenick@annpc#5570 | Tik 1: "That is permissible." Trenick@annpc#5570 | Tik 2: "We will also ask that your vessel transmit all the information on this machine you are installing." Mia@crystyll smiles, replying with drone clicks, "We have all the relevant information stored in our memory bank. Transmitting now..." Mia@crystyll | Miadrone beeps away Trenick@annpc#5570 FX | Several more shockwaves emanate from other parts of the creature. Trenick@annpc#5570 | Tik 1: "We have received the information. Your assistance is appreciated, and I hope your extreme methods will benefit and not harm the God." Mia@crystyll dips her head, "We sincerely hope so as well, and shall make every effort to ensure that is the case" Mia@crystyll looks to the others, "We should begin our work. We will liaise with Ms. Kelly for the installation procedure when everything is ready" she strolls off to join the Tik's working away Trenick@annpc#5570: "The rest of us should probably return to the ship. We're not engineers. And we need oxygen." Muirgen@BobSagetYYZ nods. "Agreed. Walking on solid ground sounds amazing right now." Mi'shune@1nONLY_DRock: "Agreed!" Trenick@annpc#5570: "Trenick to Valley Forge, beam up the away team save for Mia." Trenick@annpc#5570: "And we may want decontamination." Trenick@annpc#5570 FX | The team disappears into transporter beams. Mia@crystyll FX | Several hours pass with the 3 ships trailing the cosmozoans while teams work on the quazi-dialysis machine Mia@crystyll FX | Eventually everything is set and the machine is transported to the cosmozoan's wound where the Tik teams install it with Mia's assistance Mia@crystyll FX | The creature displays natural discomfort at first, but (relatively!) quickly adapts and shows early signs of a promising recovery. But only time will now tell... Mia@crystyll: ---Fin---

NARRATIVE:Whilst conducting border surveys alongside USS Akagi & Baton Rouge along the established Azedi-claimed border, long range sensors detected a large number vessels on an intercept course at low warp. These were soon determined to be cosmozoan's and further identified against ship's records of those known to be used for space travel by a species known as the Tik's. Working from experience of previous encounters with this species, we deduced that something was amiss given their somewhat xenophobic outlook. Though specifically this outlook was towards users of artificial technology rather than specific species types.
Allowing the herd to approach, we were promptly contacted with a request for aid; stating that they had been attacked and that one of their cosmozoans was dying (also making reference to previous encounters with the species by this ship, indicative of the possibility that one of this specific herd was the same Tik vessel that was previously dealt with). A preliminary scan of the creature indicated severe energy weapon damage to it's lower port beam with trace indicators of neutrino and verteron signatures; readings consistent with Azedi weapon configurations.
Upon our agreement to attempt assistance, we were provided coordinates for an away team to transport to the cosmozoan - further evidence of their desperation in light of known attitudes towards technology and users of it. The interior environment was entirely aquatic and reportedly likened to an estimation of the interior of a biological lifeform with reference to corridors being akin to blood vessels and the liquid environment to the creatures blood-equivalent, including it's circulatory flow which hindered the teams progress on several occasions during the mission.
Internal assessment of the injury determined that one of the creatures primary organs was damaged and it was essentially bleeding internally. With the organs functionality likened to that of a bipedals kidney, the optimal solution was in fact presented by LT Finney who was quick to associate the functionality of such an organ in an aquatic environment with that of our water purifiers. This revelation led the team to determine that the optimal course of action was to install a series of adapted purifiers to the cosmozoan's interior, effectively running a dialysis treatment. Though the Tik's were naturally apprehensive of such a treatment, they were - thanks in no small part to a commendable diplomatic display from Mia - convinced to attempt the treatment in favour of abandoning the creature to die.
The overall treatment process took several hours for the adaptation and installation of the water purifiers, and upon completion we had to 'transfuse' a large volume of environmental fluid from another member of the herd. However at the time of parting company from the Tik's, the injured cosmozoan was confirmed as having biologically accepted the implanted water purifiers and - though still weakened and under observation from the Tiks - showed early signs of making a recovery.
RECOMMENDATION: No further action is deemed necessary in direct response to these events. Scan data of the cosmozoan interiors is included for archiving, along with copy data of all information provided to the Tik's regarding the installation, use, and removal of the water purifiers. Though diplomatic relations with the Tik's are not believed to hinge solely on the outcome of this action, it is the consensus of those who interacted with them that successful recovery of this injured creature will serve to distinctly strengthen the bonds of trust between the Tiks and the Federation.
