Since picking up their refugee guests - the beings formerly worshipped as deities by the Eagek - Species 2501, in their now mortal forms; the crew of the Valley Forge have been working tirelessly to help find a suitable new home where 2501 can settle and discover their new existence.
The search has now presented a promising candidate, and so the ship moves to conduct a more thorough survey of the potential new homeworld...

T'Quila@crystyll FX | The mess hall is oddly lively with a number of enlisted folks enjoying some drinks and dancing after their last shift of the week T'Quila@crystyll is happily dancing away with J'Saex & Mia T'Quila@crystyll: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-ueAtzwpW3w&list=RD-ueAtzwpW3w&start_radio=1&t=2 Katie@anncarise steps into the mess hall and replicates herself a drink before moving up to TQ's group. T'Quila@crystyll smiles and waves as she spots Katie, "Hey Oliver, coming to join us?" Katie@anncarise: "Oh no, I'm just here to watch. Been standing all day at the transporter console." Katie@anncarise takes a sip of her drink as she perches on the edge of a sofa. T'Quila@crystyll: "Pfft, standing around all day is all the more reason to shake it up a bit!" she smiles Katie@anncarise chuckles, "If you insist...I've tired out my legs worse!" Katie@anncarise takes another sip of her drink before setting it on the couch arm and standing. T'Quila@crystyll | Mia giggles, holding a hand to Katie, "Come on Ms. Katie, we're introducing your fellow NCO's to classic rock! Ms. J'Saex didn't believe that Zefram Cochrane listened to this sort of thing!" Katie@anncarise takes Mia's hand and joins in the dancing, "Really? Zefram Cochrane listened to it?" Katie@anncarise shows T'Quila her knowledge of a variety of dance styles. T'Quila@crystyll | Mia nods, "So the story goes at least!" T'Quila@crystyll: "Come on Mia, you of all people know the danger of believing everything you get told about the past. If we believed everything we hear, we'd all 'know' that your job as yeoman back in the 23rd century Katie@anncarise: "Well, he has pretty good taste in music!" T'Quila@crystyll: + was to stand by the captain and ask for explanations of technical jargon from the senior staff so he didn't have to look bad by asking" she smirks a little T'Quila@crystyll | Mia smirks while Miadrone beeps a raspberry at TQ Katie@anncarise chuckles, "And we transporter officers would be out of a job since everyone would think the Chief Engineer always operates the transporters personally!" T'Quila@crystyll | J'Saex: "Wait... they did?" Katie@anncarise: "Not always! And depends on the engineer, some have more experience with transporter systems than others." T'Quila@crystyll: "On the subject of, how was your day Katie? Any new visitors we should be mindful of?" Katie@anncarise: "Well there's the former Eagek gods...just another day in Starfleet!" Katie@anncarise laughs. T'Quila@crystyll: "Just another day she says as a group of retired gods take refuge on the ship..." Katie@anncarise: "Hey, you know as well as I do how strange things can get out here. You probably see even more of it, monitoring comms on the bridge!" T'Quila@crystyll: "Well, 'hear' more may be a more accurate term" she smiles Katie@anncarise chuckles, "Good point. So, what about you? Hear anything interesting from that Eagek mission?" T'Quila@crystyll shakes her head, "Regrettably not. The ship saw almost no activity while the mission was underway. I chatted some with the Captain while we waited for news, that was about it" Katie@anncarise: "With the Captain? Benefits of working on the bridge!" T'Quila@crystyll: "Benefits of being among the longest serving crew" she smiles, "But yes, being on the bridge helps too" Katie@anncarise: "I've been around quite a while too! But I suppose I do spend quite a bit of time with Kelly, so we're even!" T'Quila@crystyll: "Did I ever actually tell you how I came to serve here?" T'Quila@crystyll | J'Saex, "Yes, like... a million times!" T'Quila@crystyll perks a very Vulcan brow, "I was referring to Katie" Katie@anncarise: "I...don't think so, no. You've really heard it /that/ many times?" T'Quila@crystyll: "Please, I have told J'Saex a thousand times over not to exaggerate..." she smirks a little Katie@anncarise chuckles, "Well I'm curious to hear! I think you were here already when I arrived." T'Quila@crystyll: "Come on then, it's about time I had a rest from this. You two carry on!" she smiles to Mia & J'Saex before going to grab a seat Katie@anncarise takes a seat as well, picking her drink back up from the couch arm and taking another sip. Katie@anncarise: "Were you here during the refits, or right after? Do ships even have active comm officers during refits?" T'Quila@crystyll shakes her head, "The ship was out of action for over a year during the refit, so all of the former crew were reassigned. I was actually working the shipyards at the time" Katie@anncarise: "How'd you get on board?" T'Quila@crystyll: "Well, by the time the ship was ready for commissioning, we all knew of the project of course. Word began to spread about her new CO being a freshly promoted captain. Nothing extraordinary in and of + T'Quila@crystyll: + itself I know, but the rumours were focused on this captain being an emotional Vulcan - v'tosh ka'tur - and this caught my interest as you might imagine" Katie@anncarise: "Oooh, yes, I can see. And you ended up making friends with the captain?" T'Quila@crystyll nods, "Thankfully - as comms centre team lead - I knew when she arrived for the pre-commissioning inspection. So yes, I was curious enough that I sought her out. Not with view to joining her mind, + T'Quila@crystyll: + I simply wanted to meet her" Katie@anncarise nods, "I hear there's not too many Vulcans who share her views." T'Quila@crystyll: "Indeed there is not. It is more common among hybrids like myself, but the captain is a pureblood as they say; that is extremely rare" Katie@anncarise: "And even then I've seen hybrids that just act like most Vulcans do." T'Quila@crystyll nods, "Yes that is the most my common by far. People easily forget how... overpowering Vulcan emotions can be, so even those with only partial heritage are often left with no logical alternative than T'Quila@crystyll: + well... logic" she chuckles Katie@anncarise chuckles, "I can only imagine what that's like. I've read some autobiographies by people with mixed heritage but I'm far from being able to say I understand." Katie@anncarise: "For me, it's always been clear who I was from the start, and that's...never really changed growing up." Katie@anncarise: "I mean, I did join Starfleet and choose to stay, but being a colonist and a miner, that's just something that'll always be there, you know. Might be in the past, but it's a definite part of who I am. Katie@anncarise: - And always will be." T'Quila@crystyll perks a brow, "Indeed? Well for me it was a little more challenging. I always knew my mixed heritage of course, hard to miss really..." she smiles, "But when my Orion side began to surface with + T'Quila@crystyll: + maturity... well, let's just say that adherence to Vulcan practices became increasingly problematic..." T'Quila@crystyll: "That is actually why I joined you know, too" Katie@anncarise: "Because the expectations here aren't as...strict?" T'Quila@crystyll: "Because on Vulcan I could be neither myself or what I was expected to be. Here the two expectations are aligned" Katie@anncarise nods, "I think a lot of people find that sort of home here. Starfleet has strict standards in some regards, but it's extremely tolerant of differences." T'Quila@crystyll: "Indeed. And nowhere was that more apparent than when I learned of a v'tosh ka'tur being named Captain of a newly refit exploration cruiser. So my curiosity led me to seek her out at UP, she was + T'Quila@crystyll: + a Commander at the time - XO of the Dawnstar as I recall - and wore a gold strip. So we immediately struck a rapport which very quickly led to our more personal common ground" Katie@anncarise: "I can see what you mean! It's kind of like that with Kelly and I, except neither of us came to the ship hearing of the other or anything like that." T'Quila@crystyll: "Oh? I was not aware the two of you had such common ground. I knew of course, that you are close but assumed that was from working together so closely for so long" Katie@anncarise: "Well there's that too," she chuckles. "But she's also from a mixed Federation colony, and we both joined up out of a wish to help, and stayed in part due to the wonder." T'Quila@crystyll: "Aah, I was not aware of this. I don't think I've ever actually seen any of the mixed colonies like that, save for those we've visited here I mean" Katie@anncarise: "Quite a few colonies are established by individual planets, many before they even joined the Federation. But there's also those established by the Federation, often resource ones like where I'm from- Katie@anncarise: - but you also get places like Altair IV, Kelly's home, which is mostly agricultural or urban but with a mixed population." T'Quila@crystyll: "I imagine growing on such a world could easily feel completely detached from the world of Starfleet. That would certainly explain the shared sense of wonder you spoke of" Katie@anncarise: "Certainly, the only Starfleet ships we normally get are escorts for transport ships when there's problems in the region." Katie@anncarise: "We deal most with the Merchant Marines, due to the amount of dilithium we supply the fleet." Katie@anncarise: "Rarely get any cruisers, except in wartime." T'Quila@crystyll: "Understandable." she nods, considering Katie a moment, "I find myself curious... do you return home to visit much?" Katie@anncarise: "I usually use most of my shore leave for that. It's not too far from this side of the Federation frontier, but still a good few sectors off." T'Quila@crystyll: "Interesting, thank you for indulging my curiosity" she smiles, sipping her drink Katie@anncarise: "No problem. I don't suppose you return to Vulcan much?" T'Quila@crystyll shakes hre head, "I speak to my mother frequently, of course. But short of specific events requiring my presence, there is little need for me to return really" Katie@anncarise: "There's not much need for me to go back either. My parents are healthy and still working, and my younger brother's still back there with them. But I like to visit my family and the friends I had - Katie@anncarise: - growing up every once in a while." T'Quila@crystyll smiles, "That's nice. Yeah, I admit I do like to see my mother when we speak. And I know she likes it too, even if she will never admit it" she chuckles Katie@anncarise: "Do Vulcans really not even show emotions within their own family?" T'Quila@crystyll shakes her head, "It's not about outward perception, but inward control" Katie@anncarise: "But you have to let some show every once in a while...right? Or is that normally viewed as a bad thing?" T'Quila@crystyll: "Well yes, in a sense we do. It's less a case of choosing to show it than it is of being uncontrollably overcome by it from years of total suppression" Katie@anncarise nods, "It would be impossible not to for your entire life, unless your brains work completely differently..." Katie@anncarise: "I can understand why you left Vulcan though. I definitely wouldn't be able to live with these standards." T'Quila@crystyll sighs softly, "I wish it were as simple as a such a choice" Katie@anncarise: "Well, you are feeling more at home here, right?" T'Quila@crystyll: "Oh totally, it's just that... well, growing up I always intended to join my mother in the Science Academy. But when my Orion side began to interfere with my logical pursuits, that faded through T'Quila@crystyll: + neccessity first" Katie@anncarise: "When I was a young child I never thought I'd end up in Starfleet either. But I made the choice out of willingness, not due to circumstances forcing me or anything." Katie@anncarise: "So I guess it's very different. But you don't always see where you'll go." T'Quila@crystyll: "Very true, and don't get me wrong; I don't begrudge it or anything. It is where I belong after all! But in my younger years... it wasn't always so clear at least!" Katie@anncarise: "I've met a lot of people with those dilemmas, even plenty who didn't have mixed heritage. Growing up can be a difficult thing." T'Quila@crystyll: "Indeed it can, especially when suppressed emotional outflow combines with potent pheromones" she chuckles Katie@anncarise: "That must have caused quite some chaos..." T'Quila@crystyll: "Yeah..." she laughs, "You could say that!" she leans in, "It was like contagious pon farr, scary as hell but damned funny to look back on now!" Katie@anncarise laughs, "Wish I could have seen that!" T'Quila@crystyll: "Yeah, well after that I realized I was never really going to be able to balance two such potent and conflicting bloodlines and so the logical choice was to stop trying to and simply embrace them" Katie@anncarise: "You seem pretty well rounded now! And fitting in nicely too." T'Quila@crystyll smiles, "Thanks Katie, I certainly do feel like I have found my home - and myself - here. But speaking of finding home, I think I'll head back to my quarters there" T'Quila@crystyll: "It has been a most interesting talk, Katie. Thank you" Katie@anncarise smiles back, "It's been nice speaking to you too, T'Quila. See you around the ship!" -------------------

Eunha18/03/2019 Eunha walks in cradling something or someone in her arms and moves to the bar and orders herself a coffee Crystyl31/03/2019 Keelah and T'Pia enter the lounge, moving to Eunha's side at the bar, "Hello counsellor!" T'Pia chirps as they approach. Keelah smiles as they draw near, "It is good to see you out and about Eunha, how are things?" Eunha31/03/2019 Absolutely fine hey quick question do you want another baby? Crystyl31/03/2019 Keelah blinks, briefly taken aback before catching on and smirking a little, "Still finding you feet with motherhood then?" Eunha31/03/2019 Oh no not at all I’m doing just fine Crystyl31/03/2019 A softer smile forms on Keelahs face, glancing back distracted as T'Pia leans in, craning her neck to see, "Is that him?" She asks delicately, fearing if it is the baby, he may be sleeping Eunha31/03/2019 "It is." The child is wide awake Crystyl31/03/2019 T'Pia beams excitedly, leaning past Keelahs arm to see the baby, "Awww he's adorable!" She coos Eunha07/04/2019 "He is. Would you like to hold him?" she offers to either Keelah or Pia Crystyl07/04/2019 T'Pia nods eagerly, "Can I?" Looking to Eunha, arms already primed to cradle the baby Eunha07/04/2019 passes the creature over Crystyl09/04/2019 T'Pia gingerly takes the baby in her arms, rocking him lightly to try and keep him settled. She smiles as broad as her mother - cooing and aww'ing at the bundle of joy in her arms Keelah has a mild panic attack with the sudden picture of becoming a grandmother while barely out of childhood herself Eunha09/04/2019 "You alright there Keelah?" Crystyl10/04/2019 A blink brings Keelah back to reality and she chuckles, "Oh yes, just thinking is all!" Eunha10/04/2019 "You suuuuuuure?" Crystyl10/04/2019 She rolls her eyes, shaking her head with a held smile, "Don't start with that! Honestly it's nothing, just a little thoughtful is all" she smiles, ruffling T'Pia's hair as she seems lost in her own little world of Vulcanoid baby talk Eunha10/04/2019 "I may be on maternity leave but I'm still your counsellor." sticks her tongue out at her Crystyl10/04/2019 Keelah simply crinkles her nose with a slight smirk in response, "Speaking of; how are you enjoying your leave?" Eunha10/04/2019 "It's great. How are my girls?" Crystyl10/04/2019 "Doing a fine job of covering your workload! Though I'm sure you still more of them than me" she chuckles Eunha10/04/2019 "I've only seen them once actually they are very busy bees." Crystyl10/04/2019 "To be expected with crew eval month" she nods, "But that should all be wrapped up now so hopefully they will have more time to come see you" Eunha10/04/2019 "Hopefully." Crystyl10/04/2019 "I'll have a word with Zee, see if we can't do something to guarantee it" she smiles Crystyl14/04/2019 Keelah's combadge chirps and she steps away a moment, talking away T'Pia is still completely preoccupied with babytalk, and has even progressed to silly faces now... Keelah returns a few moments later, "Well it seems duty calls, as I have some guests to greet." she looks to T'Pia, "Why don't you stay here and keep Eunha company some, sweetheart? I'll be back as soon as I can" T'Pia looks up to Keelah, midway blowing a playful raspberry and with tongue still partially poking out. She grins and nods her head, "Will do mum!" Keelah laughs, waving to the pair as she heads off Crystyl14/04/2019 Shortly afterwards, and via the opposite door, a young woman enters. Wearing what can easily be mistaken for a SF uniform; though lacking a combadge, rank insignia or a department colour (strip is pure white), she gazes around in wonder before her attention is stolen by the strange sounds and faces T'Pia is making to Eunha's baby. She watches the pair curiously, and obviously Crystyl14/04/2019 She approaches Eunha & T'Pia after a prolonged curious stare, "What is that language? It sounds very complex...." spotting the baby, "Oooooh, is it the language of the little one? I've never seen such a diminutive species before, how adorable!" Eunha14/04/2019 "It's not a very complex language it is just baby babble." Crystyl14/04/2019 "Baby babble?" She asks with an inquisitive tone, "Oh! Is that what this little species is called? How come your translators don't work for this language, is it that advanced?" She sounds impressed at the wonderment of such a possibility Eunha14/04/2019 "Actually he has not learnt a language yet." Crystyl14/04/2019 "Oh! So... is the small Vulcan attempting to establish a line of comminication with it? Open diplomatic negotiations via..." looks to T'Pia T'Pia blows another raspberry and makes googly eye faces at the baby "...specialized linguistic techniques...?" Eunha14/04/2019 "Just trying to make the baby laugh." Crystyl14/04/2019 "Aah I see, yes; establish common ground through shared humour, ingenious!" Eunha14/04/2019 "Sure." she chuckles Crystyl14/04/2019 She looks to T'Pia, "You lust be quite the accomplished negotiator to be afforded such responsibility! Hmm, and smaller in stature than your Captain, perhaps it is a Vulcan trait then; an offset of smaller build against diplomatic prowess. Yes that must be it, fascinating!" She beams, proud of her deductive reasoning T'Pia, "umm..." looks to Eunha for help Eunha14/04/2019 Laughs "The baby is actually my child, she's not negotiating. They are just playing." Crystyl14/04/2019 T'Pia nods with a smile, "Just as I am the Captains child. Just a little older than this little guy. Well, sort of... but thats a long story!" The visitor looks between them with uncertainty before hesitating, "Wait... are you saying this is actually a Human hatchling?!" Eunha14/04/2019 "Essentially yes." Crystyl14/04/2019 "Shouldn't you then be, like... sitting on it still?" The visitor asks with an innocence worthy of Rianni Eunha14/04/2019 "No." Eunha looks confused Crystyl14/04/2019 "Huh. How curious..." the visitor seems equally confused by this revelation. "Is... that how the Eagek nurture their offspring?" T'Pia ventures "Naturally!" The visitor responds, "Hatchlings remain in the nest until they are old enough and strong enough to fly out on their own" Crystyl14/04/2019 Keelah and Ash enter the lounge, moving towards Eunha's group Crystyl14/04/2019 T'Pia looks up with a smile, "Oh hey mum, you're back!" Keelah settles with an arm around T'Pia's shoulder, "Yes sweetheart, we decided to come and relax some. This is Captain Vallen from the Shinano. Captain, the aformentioned daughter" "Hello!" T'Pia chirps happily, "I would shake your hand but... yeah!" She chuckles, lifting the baby slighty in her arms. Keelah continues, "And... hm, did you meet Eunha before, Captain?" Cast14/04/2019 She waves at T'pia "Heya. And I believe so, if not during a mission then definitely at Swifty's" Crystyl14/04/2019 "Of course!" She chuckles, "And finally, someone I think you know, but may not recognise..." she looks to the visitor with a knowing smile Cast14/04/2019 She looks over to the visitor "Well, I remember.. nope don't remember any of what I did" Crystyl14/04/2019 The visitor smiles broadly, steppimg foward and wrapping her arms around Ash in an affectionate hug, "It's you! The one whose mind I touched!" Cast14/04/2019 She returns the hug "Ah, well it's nice to meet you" Crystyl14/04/2019 The visitor beams excitedly, "You know you opened my eyes to the possibility of this universe that day!" Crystyl15/04/2019 T'Pia looks at her, "Oh! You're /that/ one! Sorry, I don't really know faces yet, just figured you were one of the species mum told me about who were staying! Tray... something, right?" The visitor smiles sweetly at the young Vulcan, "Traennhn actually, though that was technically the Eagek's name for the deity they worshipped. It feels sort of wrong to carry that name now, so... I don't reay have one!" Cast15/04/2019 Ash smiles over "The conversation I do at least remember. What do you feel like calling yourself?" Crystyl15/04/2019 She hrms, "I... don't really know, we never had much use for names really apart from our interaction with the Eagek. How does one choose a name, exactly?" Cast15/04/2019 "Usually your parents would do it. But you could also pick one that suits who you are or you like the sound of" Crystyl15/04/2019 Another thoughtful hrm, "...I do like the idea of something that suits who I am now, yes! But what am I though? Besides lesser..." T'Pia chimes in half picking up on the conversation, "Lisa?" "No, lesser. But ooh maybe, Lessa? No, that still sounds the same doesn't it" she contines to juggle the words 'lesser' and 'lisa'over amd over before stumbling upon an amalgamation, "Less... Lees... Leas... Laes... Laesa... yes! Laesa, I like that!" Her deep purple eyes glimmer with joy Cast15/04/2019 "There we go, one name came up with" she smiles Crystyl15/04/2019 "Sounds good to me" Keelah smiles, "I'll have Crystyl see to it that our records are updated" Laesa smiles contentedly, "Well that's one box ticked! So Captain Ash, this is a bit new for me as I've never met someone who's mind I touched before" Cast15/04/2019 "Well, if it makes things any easier I can't say I remember what happened. But today is a day filled with new experiences for you" Crystyl15/04/2019 "Yes, and it is wonderful! Right down to this body, I did a good job of right? I had noooo sense of vanity before, it's a reql nuisance now! Does it come and go like hunger? If so how does one sate that particular appetite?" Cast15/04/2019 She chuckles "It'd certainly be convenient if it did, you have days when you won't care as much but it's different from person to person" Crystyl15/04/2019 "Aww" Laesa pouts a little, "Still, I think it came out pretty well-" she leans in a bit to Ash, "Thank you for that by the way, between us, I think my brothers are a little jealous of it!" Cast15/04/2019 Ash raises an eyebrow but smiles "What am I being thanked for? Crystyl15/04/2019 "Why, it was inspired by you of course! I touched your mind remember!" She twiddles her hair, "And this mane is faaar more managable than a body full of feathers, believe you me!" Keelah and T'Pia glance to one another with a chuckle Cast15/04/2019 "Oh, then it was my pleasure. And you say manageable now but wait until you learn about dyes" she grins マスタ_デックス16/04/2019 Tsurugi strides into the lounge, his uniform jacket is unzipped... again, revealing a simple tank top underneath. He gives the air of someone who just clocked out from duty as he shuffles in and his right hand is occupied with a kendama, which he is idly playing with マスタ_デックス16/04/2019 he pauses his kendama play a bit to order a drink at the bar in the lounge, glancing at the grouping nearby Crystyl16/04/2019 "Oh please, I don't even want to think about aging yet, let alone dying!" Laesa laughs Cast16/04/2019 "No no no, hair dyes! To change its colour!" she chuckles Crystyl16/04/2019 "Chamge colour, hm... like this you mean?" Laesa asks before concentrating a moment and before the groups eyes her hair turns from jet black to blonde マスタ_デックス16/04/2019 Tsurugi looks over as the display occurs in mild surprise, and then takes a sip of this drink muttering to himself "such mischievous potential there.." Crystyl16/04/2019 Keelah's eyes widen slightly before perking a very Vulcan brow, "Interesting. I was not aware you species has such capability" "Me neither!"Laesa laughs, "Though I'm preeeeetty sure the others don't, from what little I've seen so far, many - if not all of us - seem to have retained some minor semblence of once favoured traits. And I was one for appearing in different forms! I wonder..." she looks back to Keelah with another concentrated look before her ears extend into Vulcanoid points. She traces a fimgertip across one with a giggle, "This is fun!" Cast16/04/2019 "Well that's incredibly convenient" Crystyl17/04/2019 Laesa chuckles, "Seems so" concentrating again to restore her ears and hair colour to normal, wobbling a little in the process, "Ooh..." she holds a hand to her head, "...and rather taxing at that..." マスタ_デックス18/04/2019 Tsurugi sips a drink and idles by the others now, curious, he approaches where Laesa and co. are and generically opines "Shapeshifter?" Crystyl18/04/2019 "Apparently so..." Keelah nods, a hint of concern in her voice Laesa spots this and immediately offers a reassuring smile, "Do not worry Captain, it was such a strain to simply do that much I doubt I'd ever be able to assume a whole form like, hm... what were thet called now. Another worshipped race I felt in the captain's mind... Founder, thats it! Yeah... A few facial features is one thing, but it is still my face underneath them. Nothing like what they do!" マスタ_デックス18/04/2019 sips a bit more without comment as he fiddles with the kendama in his other hand CrystylYesterday at 16:35 Keelahs combadge chirps and she steps away from the group to respond <C-T'Quila> Bridge to Captain Se'Lai, your requested hpdate; we are now entering the surveyed system. <C> Thanks Tee, we'll be up shortly she taps again and returns "Well if you would all please excuse us. Zhyl'ia@thecastellan: "Good news on the new home front" she gestures to the viewscreen, assuming it's on Keelah@crystyll | Laesa immediately drifts away from Wruot'nt and starts wandering around, gawking at all the consoles, and the personnel operating them Keelah@crystyll: "Oh? Excellent! And is that Commander sh'Ikellit I hear?" Keelah@crystyll she says, moving to Wruot'nt's side and indicating the planet on screen with an encouraging smile at the sight of his potential new home Zhyl'ia@thecastellan: shrugs slightly "I'm unfamiliar with who it is I'm afraid" Wruot'nt@anncarise eyes Zee curiously before his gaze turns to the screen as Keelah points it out. Wruot'nt@anncarise: "Ah, you have found a potential home then?" Keelah@crystyll: ( https://i.imgur.com/igDK50b.png ) Keelah@crystyll | Laesa bounds up to the screen, ooh'ing and aah'ing Alistair Nimitz@natthaan: <sh'Ikellit> "The Captain and Zryg have spent sometime togather on the surface to survay the place themselves." Wruot'nt@anncarise looks to Laesa, "I believe that is one of their screens. The view does not change if you move closer." Keelah@crystyll: "Aah excellent! Are they on the surface presently?" Keelah@crystyll | Laesa turns to Wru, "I know that! I just wanted to get a nice look at it" she pokes her tongue at him, turning back to the screen with a beaming smile Zhyl'ia@thecastellan: snickers Alistair Nimitz@natthaan: <sh'Ikellit> "Yes they are currently." Wruot'nt@anncarise looks over to the image again before turning back to Keelah, "I am unfamiliar with the conditions of worlds in your realm. You believe this one will be a fitting place for us to live?" Keelah@crystyll: "Perfect. Perhaps you would be so kind as to send over coordinates for the beam in point? We seem to have some visitors over here who are quite keen for a closer look..." she smirks, watching Laesa Alistair Nimitz@natthaan: <sh'Ikellit> "Already sending them now." Keelah@crystyll: "Thank you Commander. If there's anything we can be of assistance with to you in orbit, do let me know. Valley Forge out" Keelah@crystyll smiles to Wru with a nod, "Based on what our initial medical scans told us of your biology, this should be an optimal world in terms of climate. We designate a planet of this type as a class M" Keelah@crystyll TQ | "Coordinates recieved Captain. Updating to transporter room 1" Keelah@crystyll: "Thanks Tee" wanders back to the centre, "So Zee, feel like getting a bit of fresh air with our guests?" Wruot'nt@anncarise nods, "Excellent. We look forward to seeing how we fare on it." Zhyl'ia@thecastellan: smiles "I think that'd be more suited to you, I'd trip over too much" Keelah@crystyll smiles, "I knew there was a reason I wanted you on my bridge. Anyone else, I'd have to fight for everyone bit of ground time I can get!" Keelah@crystyll: "Mr. Chag, bring us alongside the Pegasus and hold for standard orbit" looks to their guests, "Well... ready to go see your - hopefully - new home?" Keelah@crystyll | Chag nods, "Setting approach vector for standard orbit" Wruot'nt@anncarise: "Let us see what awaits. There will be much to learn, regardless of whether or not this particular venture is a success." Zhyl'ia@thecastellan: "I'll try not to have too much fun while you're gone" Keelah@crystyll: "Alright Zee, you have the bridge" looks to the two guests, "If you'll follow me then..." she indicates back to the turbolift, chuckling at Zee Zhyl'ia@thecastellan: takes the center seat as they walk off Zhyl'ia@thecastellan: adjusts the height.. --- Alistair Nimitz@natthaan folds his arms as he looks around the area. Wruot'nt@anncarise | Zyrg looks across at the landscape, "A world untouched, ripe for change. What your kind does, settling worlds, building your structures, introducing your life..." Wruot'nt@anncarise | Zyrg: "It is also a form of destruction, is it not?" Alistair Nimitz@natthaan: "That... is not how I'd put it.. but that is one way of looking at it." Wruot'nt@anncarise | Zyrg: "You tear down rock faces, cut down forests, poison the soil with chemicals that favour what you desire to grow. If this world would speak, it would call it destruction." Alistair Nimitz@natthaan nods Keelah@crystyll FX | The familiar hum of a transporter beam heralds the arrival of the VF team Alistair Nimitz@natthaan: "Well.. as a former god of distruction, I hope that satisfies you without causing harm to your kin." Keelah@crystyll materializes alongside Wruot'nt, Laesa and good old [insert Trill security name here] Wruot'nt@anncarise | Zyrg: "I am merely stating what I observe. I do not seek satisfaction in causing destruction any longer. From what I know of this realm, I need only watch for such entertainment." Keelah@crystyll looks around, squinting some as her eyes adjust. She smiles and waves after spotting Nimitz and Zryg, "Gentlemen, enjoying the sun are we?" Alistair Nimitz@natthaan: "I thought it would only be fitting to have the place inspected by a future inhabitant." Wruot'nt@anncarise steps up as well, "Ah. Zyrg. What do you make of this world then?" Keelah@crystyll: "Indeed" she nods, looking between the 2501's for their first impressions Keelah@crystyll | Laesa is already down by the water, boots off and splashing around Wruot'nt@anncarise | Zyrg: "This world has not yet developed life as complex as the Eagek, or the species of the Federation. It is in the midst of change, and so any change we bring to it will merge with what the - Wruot'nt@anncarise - world itself is already doing." Wruot'nt@anncarise: "Change. Such a fascinating concept. It was always what drew you towards causing destruction, was it not?" Wruot'nt@anncarise | Zyrg: "It was indeed." He looks to Laesa. "She was right. It is much more interesting when the change occurs around you, within you, rather than being a simple observer." Keelah@crystyll looks between the two again, before turning to Nimitz, "So Captain, your preliminary survey shows great promise here. According to your XO at least?" Wruot'nt@anncarise: "Also quite disorientating, though." Alistair Nimitz@natthaan nods "It has been, we are still waiting back to see how harsh the winters could be, but they seem promising to be well within tolerance." Keelah@crystyll | Laesa giggles with glee, "Ooh, the water is so warm! Have you guys ever tried this? This is fantastic!" she strips bare and goes deeper into the water, thoroughly enjoying herself Alistair Nimitz@natthaan: "Of course that changes the futher north you travel.." Wruot'nt@anncarise | Zyrg glances to Laesa, "Not as much for her." Keelah@crystyll: "Well there should be sufficient time to establish suitable protection from the eleme-..." looks around, facepalming at Laesa Keelah@crystyll chuckles, "I hope there are no aquatic predators in the shallow waters..." looks to Badzi, "Maybe keep an eye on her, just to be safe" Wruot'nt@anncarise: "These temperature variations...what causes them?" Badzi@thecastellan nods and wanders to the edge of the water Alistair Nimitz@natthaan looks to Wruot "Just the standard rouation of the planet, during a cycle one part of the planet will be closer to the sun while the other is farther away, which causes the climate to shift from hot Alistair Nimitz@natthaan: to cold." Keelah@crystyll | Laesa spots Badzi's approach and grins, "Ooh, coming to join me? she waves eagerly Badzi@thecastellan: "Were I off duty.. maybe" Wruot'nt@anncarise: "Interesting. So much change in this realm...so dynamic." Alistair Nimitz@natthaan: "Of course now that you are settling on the planet, your present here can be... very distructive if you don't treat the planet right." Keelah@crystyll nods, "And before you get excited about that prospect, consider that such destruction can ultimately come back to be determental to yourselves" Keelah@crystyll | Laesa pouts a little, but with the attention span of a goldfish her gaze snaps around, "Ooh, what's that!" she circles around repeatedly, chasing something Wruot'nt@anncarise | Zyrg: "Indeed. In all my time interacting with the Eagek, if I have learned one thing, it is that any action has consequences." Badzi@thecastellan frowns "Careful now, the wildlife isn't fully known yet" Wruot'nt@anncarise: "And without the knowledge we possessed of that world, many of these consequences may be wildly unpredictable." Wruot'nt@anncarise: "We have much to learn here, about this world and the cycles of life within it." Keelah@crystyll: "smiles and nods to Zryg, "Indeed, there is philosophy followed quite stringently by a race we call the Deferi; centres around 'balance' such as this. It's teaching may prove to be of interest to you" Keelah@crystyll | Laesa, but it's so pretty! Look!" she stands, cradling a small tropical fish in her hands Wruot'nt@anncarise: "I have not heard of these Deferi yet. I will certainly look into them." Keelah@crystyll: "One of many teachings that I suspect you will find to be of interest" she smiles, "But yes, the principle of action to equal and opposite reaction is a fundamental you would do well to keep at heart" Badzi@thecastellan: "Well, it certainly is pretty yes. I think you should let it swim free though, it's probably rather scared" Wruot'nt@anncarise | Zyrg: "I am aware there are also some more destructive cultures. These Klingons or Breen or Hur'q. How is it they survive, when they wreak such havoc in their own realm?" Keelah@crystyll | Laesa smiles, tenderly stroking a fingertip across it's body, "It is... confused, out of it's home. Yes." she smiles sweetly, leaning in and whispering to the fish, "I know how you feel pretty one! Alistair Nimitz@natthaan arches a brow "Well.. the Breen and Hur'q are two very different kinds of beings." Keelah@crystyll | Laesa gently lowers the fish back into the water, hrming curiously as she stands. She concentrates and befores Badzi's eyes, her flesh changes colour to match that of the stripey rainbow fish! Wruot'nt@anncarise | Zyrg: "They all have a reputation of causing destruction, do they not?" Badzi@thecastellan just.. blinks a bunch Keelah@crystyll | Laesa looks down her naked - and now scaly and colourful - body witha smile, holding her arms out and giving a twirl, "What do you think?" she giggles Alistair Nimitz@natthaan: "Yes, they do, but they both have different endgoals." Alistair Nimitz@natthaan: "The Hur'q were manipulated by the Dominion, which is why they caused so much havoc on the Galaxy, the Breen seek to own as much as they can." Badzi@thecastellan ahems "Rather pretty.." Keelah@crystyll watches the commosion by the water with a smirk Wruot'nt@anncarise: "There are so many different groups at work in your realm. I can see why your people insist on subdividing knowledge into various categories." Keelah@crystyll | Laesa beams happily, "You know, I bet with practice I could even make little wings like the aquatic creature had. That could be fun! But oh, breathing. Hrm... problematic..." Badzi@thecastellan smiles "You mean fins?" Wruot'nt@anncarise: "The study of these groups and their behaviours...that alone will take up one of your lifetimes to learn." Alistair Nimitz@natthaan: "Indeed... even with my extended life span.." Keelah@crystyll | Laesa blinks, "Oh! Is that what they're called? Fins, I shall remember that. Thank you!" she grins again, shaking herself through and restoring her natural fleshtone before going back to swimming Badzi@thecastellan nods and keeps an eye on Laesa as she swims Keelah@crystyll: "Well you have certainly got plenty ahead to look forward to" she smiles Keelah@crystyll turns to Al, "Have your teams conducted viral and contaminant surveys yet?" Wruot'nt@anncarise: "Ah yes, we will need instruments to gather new knowledge now. And to construct a home on this world, no doubt." Alistair Nimitz@natthaan nods "We have, this area is safe for sure, the other places do have some potental harmful virius and bacteria, but our medical staff is working on suitable counters for them." Wruot'nt@anncarise: "While many of us possess a limited range of abilities we have built into our physical forms, it will likely not be enough." Keelah@crystyll: "Excellent. My CMO informs me that - despite their varying appearances - all of 2501 appear to share the same base biology. She is already working on synthesizing boosters for their immune systems.+ Keelah@crystyll: + I will have her liaise with your teams so things can be tailored to this environment" she then nods to Wru, "There is a lot you will need to get up and running here, but I'm sure we can help" Wruot'nt@anncarise: "I can gather those of us who may be most interested in learning how to utilize your technology." Keelah@crystyll | Laesa eventually tires of swimming and wades out, laying back on the warm sand with a smile, "I think the ambient radiation filtered through the planet's atmosphere should be sufficient to dry off+ Keelah@crystyll: + my flesh, right?" Badzi@thecastellan: "Perhaps yes, but you may start to feel a chill before you are fully dry" Keelah@crystyll: "Not just our technology" she smiles, "But basic survival skills. Hunting & gathering, basic construction. These will all be essential for you I think" Wruot'nt@anncarise: "There will certainly be a few who are interested in those." Wruot'nt@anncarise | Zyrg: "This hunting...I have always enjoyed larger scale change on the Eagek world, but pursuing a single quarry in a flesh body like this may prove interesting." Keelah@crystyll | Laesa, "Well if it comes to that, I'm sure I can work up a nice think fur to keep me warm! I just don't want to end up smelling like wet feathers again, that takes forever to wash out!" Badzi@thecastellan hides a chuckle, badly Keelah@crystyll: "You may even find a certain... exhileration to it that your previous experience lacked. The 'thrill of the hunt' as many would call it" Keelah@crystyll | Laesa looks to Badzi curiously, "Have you ever tried flying?" Badzi@thecastellan: "In a shuttle or ship, yeah" Wruot'nt@anncarise | Zyrg: "Indeed. I look forward to attempting this hunting activity." Keelah@crystyll: "Though I may not be the most well versed in such art forms as to guide you" she looks to Al, "Perhaps Captain Nimitz would be more knowledgeable?" Alistair Nimitz@natthaan: "I would be happy to help in any way I can." Keelah@crystyll | Laesa chuckles at Badzi, "I did enjoy it when I took the form of an Eagek avatar. To spread your wings and soar over the mountains... words can not describe!" Keelah@crystyll: | Laesa: "Squawks maybe... but not words, no..." Badzi@thecastellan: "There are quite a few languages out there, maybe you'll find one that explains it well" Wruot'nt@anncarise | Zyrg: "I shall follow your example, then." Keelah@crystyll | Laesa: "Ooh... an excellent idea!" she rolls onto her side and looks more closely at Badzi, "What about your language? I am right in assuming that your markings mean you are not Human, correct?" Wruot'nt@anncarise: "I think I will leave the hunting to Zyrg and focus on your technology myself." Keelah@crystyll: "Now there, I know I can help" she smiles Badzi@thecastellan nods and smiles "That's right, I am a Trill" Keelah@crystyll Laesa: "Trill! Trilllllll. Sounds cute, I like it! So what language do Trill speak natively? Is it a beautiful and eloquent tongue?" Badzi@thecastellan smiles "Our language is also Trill" Keelah@crystyll: "Well, if everyone is content to pursue things here... we have a lot of work to do if we're to get your people up and running on this world" Wruot'nt@anncarise: "Indeed, and quite a number of things to adapt to." Keelah@crystyll | Laesa blinks, "Oh! Well that's convenient. What are Trill like then? I don't think I've met any before you! Unless I did but they lacked the spots... are they genetic or your own design?" Keelah@crystyll turns again to Al, "Well Captain, your teams already have the advanced knowledge here. Just let me know how and where we can bolster your efforts, and we'll support as required" Alistair Nimitz@natthaan: "Sounds good.. my science officer is leading most of that effort." Badzi@thecastellan: "Oh, they're all natural. And just like our spots we are all rather different"" Keelah@crystyll | Laesa tilts her head curiously, "Oh? So like, everyone's spots are unique? That's amazing!" Keelah@crystyll nods, "I'll have my people tie up with them accordingly" turnings to the 2501's, "In the meantime, perhaps we should look to prioritizing your survival tasks and identifying members of your group + Keelah@crystyll: + fitting to each, as you earlier suggested" Badzi@thecastellan: "Everyone is unique in one way or another" Keelah@crystyll | Laesa lays back with a smile, "The wonder that is your 'evolution'. A most fascinating concept..." Wruot'nt@anncarise nods, "I know the others from our realm quite thoroughly. I can identify the suitable members." Wruot'nt@anncarise: "Some may prefer to do something more different from the spheres the Eagek assigned...but that will be their decision." Keelah@crystyll smiles, "I'll help you try to identify suitable activities for everyone"
View Epilogue
Wruot'nt@anncarise FX | The Mad God runs through the mess hall randomly yelling "Wheeeeee!" T'Quila@crystyll looks up from her PADD, doubletaking at the random madness Wruot'nt@anncarise FX | He is gone as soon as he enters, leaving everyone inside similarly confounded. Wruot'nt@anncarise steps in after the Mad God, a complete contrast as he appears calm and collected. T'Quila@crystyll is still looking around confounded, a few increduluous shrugs to fellow crew, and a bit of a chuckle Wruot'nt@anncarise 's movement is elegant in a way that is inhuman, almost giraffe-like in motion. T'Quila@crystyll spots the new face and continues to watch him curiously for a moment Wruot'nt@anncarise looks around the room in his calm, collected stance, almost like an eagle surveying its territory. Wruot'nt@anncarise 's gaze settles on T'Quila after a significant time of slow gazing. Wruot'nt@anncarise steps over to her. T'Quila@crystyll realizes she's inadvertently drawn attention and figures that may even be for the best in this lower decks mess hall, as one of the more senior folks present. She stands with a smile to greet him T'Quila@crystyll: "Hello there. Can I... be of assistance?" her tone sits calm and nurturing, almost. Though clearly lacks the confidence of an officers experience Wruot'nt@anncarise: "You are similar to the one who commands this ship, are you not?" T'Quila@crystyll smiles, almost sheepishly as she tucks her hair behind her ear on one side, "You mean these, I take it?" she clearly indicates of her pointed ear Wruot'nt@anncarise nods, "Yet you see...different, somehow." T'Quila@crystyll nods, "The Captain is of a species called Vulcan. I am only half Vulcan, my father was of a different species we call Orion. That is why my skin is greener, as this is an Orion trait" Wruot'nt@anncarise: "This...species classification you use. Is it arbitrary then?" T'Quila@crystyll tilts her head slightly, considering that, "Well... I guess? I mean, it is a means of idenfitying who we are. And in a multicultural society such as the Federation, it can be fruitful to identify + T'Quila@crystyll: + others by their species, as many possess different traits - good and bad - which can effect interaction, especially if unknown" T'Quila@crystyll considers him further a moment, "Speaking of which... I am unfamiliar with your species. That is to say, I do not recognize you as being from one that I know" Wruot'nt@anncarise: "I do not have a species. We have never used classifications such as yours before we entered your realm of existence. We had no need for them." Wruot'nt@anncarise: "It was the Eagek who assigned us our so called spheres, and from them I first became aware of the concept. It seems such identification is commonplace in your realm." T'Quila@crystyll: "Ohhh... you're on of /them/ then!" she chuckles, "You know, I was just talking to my friends here about you!" T'Quila@crystyll glances to the door MAD exited through, "So, was he also...?" looks back to Wru Wruot'nt@anncarise: "He comes from our realm as well." T'Quila@crystyll: "Right! He errm... doesn't seem much like you. Like, at all!" Wruot'nt@anncarise: "And you do not behave identically to many others on this vessel, despite you possessing many of the same components and composition." Wruot'nt@anncarise: "If we had your classifications, I may call him a different species. But as we are, he is simply from the same realm as I." T'Quila@crystyll: "Right! Well, it's nice to meet you anyway! I'm T'Quila by the way" Wruot'nt@anncarise: "The Eagek called me Wruot'nt, if you wish a name to address me by." T'Quila@crystyll chuckles, "Well species identification aside, you'll probably find personal identification a neccessity in this realm! So what brings you down here? We don't often see visitors down here" Wruot'nt@anncarise: "I am here to learn. There is so much I do not know about your realm, and so far all I have to explore is this vessel." Wruot'nt@anncarise: "So I am exploring as much of it as I am permitted." T'Quila@crystyll: "Well, you're not exactly short of new experiences here! I've been serving on this ship since the day it was commissioned and even I haven't explored everywhere yet!" T'Quila@crystyll: "Not that I go out of my way to mind..." she chuckles, "So if you're here, would you like something to eat or drink? You're welcome to join me if you like" she gestures to the table she was sat at Wruot'nt@anncarise: "This body requires sustenance, yes. It would be appreciated." T'Quila@crystyll: "Alright then! Is there, uh... anything particular you have a taste for. You know; stuff you do or don't like?" Wruot'nt@anncarise thinks for a long moment, "I do not know." Wruot'nt@anncarise: "This body is not too dissimilar to your own, so I suspect it will take whatever sustains you." T'Quila@crystyll: "Well, one way to find out then I guess. Let me see what I can find for you" she smiles, "Please, take a seat if you like! I won't be a moment" T'Quila@crystyll heads over to consult the expert behind the bar Wruot'nt@anncarise takes a seat and waits patiently, his large head astutely observing the rest of the room. T'Quila@crystyll returns a few moments later carrying a tray with a few food & drink items Wruot'nt@anncarise 's gaze turns to the tray with interest. T'Quila@crystyll carefully sets it down, "Heeere we go! So... since you seemed so curious about my mixed heritage before, I thought you might like to explore more culinary examples of the difference too!" T'Quila@crystyll points out a few items on the tray, "So this is bowl of Vulcan plommek soup. Very plain, but nutritionally good and satisfying to eat" Wruot'nt@anncarise: "A very practical form of sustenance, then." T'Quila@crystyll: "Next we have some boiled Orion wing-slugs! These are less healthy, by rights, but a /very/ rich and spicy flavour to them. Excitement for your taste buds!" T'Quila@crystyll: "Then for drinks, we have a cup of Vulcan spiced tea - that's probably what you can smell already - and a glass of Orion wine, which is surprisingly tame actually" T'Quila@crystyll: "So yeah, I thought maybe you'd like to try some of each and see which works for you. As you learn through trying like this, you get more of an idea for your personal preferences. Even periodic tastes T'Quila@crystyll: ..." Wruot'nt@anncarise: "Interesting. Even your sustenance has so much classification." T'Quila@crystyll: "Oh yes, well hopefully when you see how much variety there can be, it may help you appreciate why the classification is needed!" she grins. Clearly satisfied with her cunning plan here Wruot'nt@anncarise carefully tries some of the plomeek soup, taking a good while to savour it before trying a wing-slug, similarly chewing extreeemely slowly. T'Quila@crystyll leans back, sipping her own fresh cup of spiced tea. Watching attently to his reactions, and silently praying she hasn't just fed him poison or something Wruot'nt@anncarise tries the Orion wine next, then the spice tea. After a long while he finally comments. Wruot'nt@anncarise: "There is quite the difference. I understand the basis behind your classification now." Wruot'nt@anncarise: "They are based on experience more so than rationale, are they not?" T'Quila@crystyll beams happily, "That's great! And believe you me there is an almost endless list of possibilities - especially when you start mixing them together!" T'Quila@crystyll: "As for the basis... yeah, I guess so. Though really the source of food is technically the basis for the actual names, I guess" Wruot'nt@anncarise: "But the source determines the experience of consumption, does it not? I assume different species of lifeforms do not give the same experience when consumed." T'Quila@crystyll nods, "A fair assumption, yeah. Different species will have different tolerances - and preferences - based on how they have evolved. Within that, there is individual taste which tends to form from + T'Quila@crystyll: + personal experience on top of that initial premise" Wruot'nt@anncarise: "Ah. I have no such basis at the moment, but I presume I am likely to develop one with further experience of this body." T'Quila@crystyll: "That would be my guess, yeah!" she smiles, "So... you never had any kind of physical body before this right? No need for sustenance or anything?" Wruot'nt@anncarise: "I have controlled avatars before, though in very rare occasions. I was not as fond of interacting with the Eagek in the fashion that Zryg often took enjoyment in." T'Quila@crystyll: "Zryg? Was that the one who, um... 'stopped by' here before you came in?" Wruot'nt@anncarise: "Zryg is the one the Eagek associated with destruction. He often caused chaos and terror among them." Wruot'nt@anncarise: "In truth though, he is not much different from the rest of us. He did what he found enjoyable, which happened to be what caused the Eagek misery." Wruot'nt@anncarise: "There is no more ill will behind it as there is in my consuming this wing-slug because I desire its taste." Wruot'nt@anncarise eats another wing-slug to demonstrate his point. T'Quila@crystyll: "Oh... well, um... yeah. I'm sure he's a nice guy too and all" she chuckles awkwardly, clearly not getting it T'Quila@crystyll: "So is that how the Eagek associated you all then? With some factor of existence in this realm. Spheres was it, you called it?" Wruot'nt@anncarise: "Spheres of influence, yes. They associated us with certain traits of their existance based on our preferred methods of interaction with them." T'Quila@crystyll: "Huh, well ain't that something! So, uh... what was your sphere? If you don't mind my asking that is. I get if you don't want to talk about an aspect of your life that you're moving on from and all... Wruot'nt@anncarise: "This concept of 'moving on' is unfamiliar to me. Our realm did not have past, present and future as you do. For us, all that exists simply do." Wruot'nt@anncarise: "I am what I am. Everything I have done and everything I have yet to do is all associated with the being 'me.' T'Quila@crystyll: "Wow... I can't even imagine an existence without time..." shakes her head, "So was that your thing with the Eagek? Philosophy or something?" Wruot'nt@anncarise: "They associated me with knowledge and memory. I observed their existance, and when I interfered, I would give them information on what I saw." T'Quila@crystyll: "Oooh, now that's something! Guess it also sort of explains your curiosity in learning about this realm too!" she chuckles Wruot'nt@anncarise: "There is much here I do not yet understand, despite my observations of the Eagek. And many of you are so very different from the Eagek as well." T'Quila@crystyll: "Indeed we are! So is that something you think you'll carry on doing now you are here? Learning and sharing knowledge I mean. You said you all did what you enjoyed before, right?" Wruot'nt@anncarise: "Learning yes, most certainly. Sharing knowledge, I am unsure of how much use I would be." T'Quila@crystyll: "What, are you kidding? Why I'd bet there are academics from across the quadrant just lining up to learn all about you and your former existence!" T'Quila@crystyll: "And that's just for starters! With your natural tendency towards learning, just think what you could learn about this realm and then share with those who don't know. It's a big place after all and + T'Quila@crystyll: + nobody knows all of it!" Wruot'nt@anncarise: "Our realm is nothing like yours. I do not even know how to begin to explain it to one who is familiar with your existance, and is even less certain of how beneficial this knowledge may be for you." Wruot'nt@anncarise: "I can, however, obtain knowledge some of you do not possess and share it with them." T'Quila@crystyll: "See, that's a worthy goal in itself! Something many people here dedicate their entire lives to infact! As for explaining about your old realm, maybe in time a better comprehension of ours will + T'Quila@crystyll: + help find a way to better explain it in a way that we may comprehend?" Wruot'nt@anncarise: "That may be the case, though such knowledge would still be of little use to anyone in this realm." Wruot'nt@anncarise: "It is not possible for any being as beings exist in this realm to transfer to ours. That is why we cannot go back once we have taken these bodies." T'Quila@crystyll: "That is not the important thing though. Knowledge doesn't have to be saught out of pure practical application after all!" Wruot'nt@anncarise: "I suppose so. Prior to entering your realm, I devoted much of my time to viewing it despite having no practical application in my own existance." Wruot'nt@anncarise: "There may be many in your realm who similarly take pleasure in knowledge." T'Quila@crystyll smiles, "Just as many do in this realm! Oh what is it mother used to say now... 'knowledge is it's own reward'! Or something like that..." Wruot'nt@anncarise: "Then it seems I am not alone in this enjoyment." T'Quila@crystyll: "Indeed you are not! One of the things which draws all of us to explore this galaxy in which we live is the pursuit of knowledge. You will find many proud institutes dedicated to that very cause even" Wruot'nt@anncarise: "And perhaps someday I will seek them out and share knowledge with them." T'Quila@crystyll smiles, "Sounds like you've got a worthy cause to focus your time on then, that's great!" Wruot'nt@anncarise: "Indeed. There is also the matter of finding those from our realm a place to live in yours. As we understand it, your realm is categorized in many ways, and some of these sections are claimed by - Wruot'nt@anncarise: - fiercely territorial beings." T'Quila@crystyll sagenods, "Oh yes, there is always a wealth of factors to consider; regional politics and stability is just one part of it" Wruot'nt@anncarise: "I am sure this task will require much knowledge, and we are likely to gain significant amounts while pursuing it as well." T'Quila@crystyll: "That's generally how it goes! All part of the wonderment that draws so many of us to the life of exploration really" Wruot'nt@anncarise: "I can certainly understand why. There is so much in your world to learn, and it all changes over the passing of time as well." T'Quila@crystyll grins, "Something tells me you're going to rather enjoy our realm!" Wruot'nt@anncarise: "It is far less monotonous than our own so far." T'Quila@crystyll: "Aww, well if there's anything I can do to help you explore more you just let me know!" T'Quila@crystyll: "Can't have our realm ever getting to feel like that for you now as well, can we!" she grins Wruot'nt@anncarise: "Thank you for your offer. I will seek you out if I am in need of your assistance." T'Quila@crystyll: "So... I get what you said about the difficulty in explaining your realm. But I'm curious, if you never had a physical form before then how did you choose the one you have now?" Wruot'nt@anncarise: "I followed in the example of the other one you saw. While others may see his ways as chaotic and unpredictable, there are many things one can learn from the ways of chaos." Wruot'nt@anncarise: "His form is random, incorporating a number of elements from many different species of your realm. I chose mine from elements that reflected the sphere the Eagek had assigned me." T'Quila@crystyll: "Aah, very cunning approach! Well, I think it suits you too!" she beams Wruot'nt@anncarise: "The large cranium associated with knowledge in most humanoid beings, the nose used most commonly to depict the ancient Kais of Bajor, the heavy brows of the typical Klingon loremasters, the ears - Wruot'nt@anncarise: - of Vulcans renowned for scientific aptitude, the beards of human sages, and so on." T'Quila@crystyll: "Yep... definitely suits!" Wruot'nt@anncarise: "I am pleased that my choice of form is a fitting one." Wruot'nt@anncarise: "I only hope that soon I will have enough knowledge of your realm to live up to the traits displayed by this form." T'Quila@crystyll: "Oh don't you worry about that, even with just the knowledge of yours and the Eagek I'm sure you will live up to it!" she chirps Wruot'nt@anncarise: "There are indeed many here who already find what I have to relay of our realm quite fascinating, despite my present inability to relay it." Wruot'nt@anncarise stands, "I will try to experience more of this realm so that soon I will be able to share more and with additional clarity." T'Quila@crystyll: "Well just you remember; only persons expectations you have to live up to are you own. Don't make the mistake so many do and push outside of their own wants because it's what others want of them" T'Quila@crystyll: "In short, keep enjoying yourself" she smiles Wruot'nt@anncarise: "Very wise advice. I thank you again for your assistance and willingness to share." T'Quila@crystyll: "Anytime!" Wruot'nt@anncarise bows his head as he makes an exit.

LOCATION: S2501 Colony
MISSION:Assist USS Pegasus in conducting feasibility assessment of identified new colony world.
OUTCOME:Preliminary survey shows promise. Moving to next phase of colonization
KEY PERSONNEL:
CAPT Keelah (USS Valley Forge) CAPT Nimitz (USS Pegasus) CMDR Zh’Zhavis LT Badzi CPO T'Quila Lar Laesa Wruot'nt Zryg
NARRATIVE:Having received word from the Pegasus that they had found a potentially suitable planet for S2501 to colonize, we altered course and moved to assist with the surveying efforts - arriving a few days after the Pegasus. By the time of our arrival, the ground survey was well underway by the Pegasus science teams and so I led a small team - including identified lead representatives from our contingent of S2501 - down to the planet's surface to assist.
The region we found to be undergoing active survey at this time was a temperate equatorial zone; reportedly one of the more stable climates across the planet's range and showing significantly reduced counts of viral agents compared with other regions of the planet. This was a larger consideration than normal owing to the less-developed natural immune systems of S2501, which were being bolstered with synthesized boosters (currently in development by a joint Valley Forge - Pegasus medical team).
Initial impressions from the S2501 representatives were positive - and surprisingly well adjusted given their past. Through the dialogue that ensued it became clear that they well adjusted and amenable to the tasks that lay before them. Planning has commenced (and is still ongoing) for the allocation of S2501 individuals to specific task areas depending on aptitude and preference, which is being coordinated through Wruot'nt as a single representative with a sound collective knowledge of the remaining members of the species.
RECOMMENDATION: Ongoing planetary surveys will need to be maintained for an extended period in order to ensure long term sustainability. Colony planning has entered the preliminary stages, with S2501 being given appropriate survival and colonization training. A continued Starfleet presence may be justified in aiding the colony establishment with basic provisioning, this would also serve in catering towards long term study of the planet and it's evolving biology.
