"A Violet Heart"

Vayyolet fell out of her chair as her ship was ejected from the VSS Ne'Reran's docking bay. The ship tumbled through space, as Vayyolet struggled to make it back to her seat. "Wh'leyao! Ne'Reran'ta wh'leys!" came the call from the console. With an outstretched hand, she extended her interface device, which shot towards the console and linked. "Vayyolet'to ke-ura!" she thought, and the words were transmitted instantly. "Pr'Serna'ta ni'cerri ee Ne'Reran! Cerrney'la wh'leys!" There was a pause. "Ver ne kuirkios, an!" "Kuirk la?" Vayyolet replied. There was no response. "Kuirk la?" she transmitted again, climbing into her seat. As she struggled to correct her tumbling ship, she could make out the burning wreck of the Ne'Reran. The other ship, the Ne'Kerak was also burning, and looked it worse shape. If she could only get one more shot off... Grabbing the console and pulling it towards her, she tapped the screen, looking up. The Serna finally decided to behave and corrected itself, before responding to the flurry of inputs that Vayyolet had ordered. Darting towards the enemy ship, Vayyolet dodged the flying wreckage of destroyed fighters and shards of larger wreckage. The Ne'Reran took another hit and exploded. Vayyolet shielded her eyes from the bright light. "Aeywr..." she muttered, before shaking her head and focusing on the task at hand. That was to destroy the Ne'Kerak. The Serna flashed something at her. She was being targeted. She spun her chair around and the room rotated with her, that now she was looking out of the back of the ship. She spotted a flash of a shot racing towards her before she jammed her console around, using her feet to spin the ship away from the shot. The chair snapped around back to the front and now Vayyolet was engaged in a dogfight with another ship. Vayyolet dipped and dodged, trying to get the enemy in her sights for the computer to get a lock on. Just as she had lined up the ship to fire, Vayyolet was thrown forward, and her ship veered away. "NI!" she screamed, glancing at her console. Another fighter had appeared and had fired on her tail. Lights flashed and sirens blared, and Vayyolet twisted her chair around a full circle to try to find the other ship. The two fighters danced around her broken one. Vayyolet twisted and turned, trying to isolate one. She got the chance, and the enemy ship blew up in a shower of debris. As she turned to face the other ship, her own ship was hit by a barrage of torpedos. "Urna!" she cursed as her ship neatly listed a damage report. Her console beeped, and Vayolet glanced at it. It was a message from the Ne'Reran. She jammed her finger on the play button. "Aeywr!" she began but was cut off instantly. "Vayyolet'ta *** kuirk *** AN!" "Aeywr... Ne'Reran..." "Vayyolet'la, w'ormae kuirk! AN!" "Aeywr..." Vayyolet looked at the ship, which was breaking up in front of her. "AN!" Vayyolet hesitated and her ship was rocked with explosions as the enemy ship fired another volley, lining up to finish her off. Vayyolet closed her eyes and pressed the button to send her ship to warp. Another cascade of explosions sent her chair flying backwards and dropped the ship out of warp. Vayyolet grabbed the strap of her chair and cut it off, reaching for a console. Her interface device linked with the console as Vayyolet sent a transmission back to the Ne'Reran. With her other hand, she tried to locate where she was. Her eyes widened when she picked another ship on the sensors, moving towards her. "Bkka!" she cursed and quickly scanned which systems were online. Shields were offline, but she did still have weapons. She wasn't going to go down without a fight. She staggered to her feet and reached over to another console, leaning on it as she turned her weapons around. Vayyolet's eyes blurred over and she found herself on the floor, her head throbbing. Looking up through watery eyes, she saw a piece of panelling dangling from the ceiling above the console. As Vayyolet's eyes began to darken, she reached up with her hand. "Iweret..." she whispered, closing her eyes and feeling hot tears streaming down her cheeks. Her hand fell limp over the console as she fell unconscious, her interface device connecting for a brief second. The computers found their target. The firing solution was calculated. Her ship fired.
"Ereyorac!" Hizow Geratuc Hayyotu waved as Ereyorac entered. "'to tato 'ta h'bellir nk eiyani 'lo irii!" Geratuc was a large Vayttian, with red skin, white cheeks, three chins, and balding white hair. She hailed from Hizow; her transfer to Linnae had meant to be temporary, but her management skills were so good, she was appointed the head of the Linnae branch soon after. She was almost Linnaen... almost... Ereyorac smiled as she placed her bag on her desk and sat in the chair, spinning around. "'to w'irri-zeut," Geratuc chuckled. "Geratuc'to ki! Ereyorac'ta 'to iriiat kapt!" "Bolla!" came a yell from the opposite cubical. Ereyorac grinned. "Hinik iyaa?" Geratuc's red eyes glinted with glee. "Y'Takenoi'ta h'jaipar y'Wetadtyy!" Ereyorac's mouth dropped. "Kw?" "'sder sait-jat," "Kappa 'ta" Ereyorac spun her chair around and extended her hand to touch the screen. It instantly displayed her search query: BREAKING NEWS: Takenoi leaves the Planetary Trade Union; joins Nelaarans "Nelara..." Ereyorac muttered, shaking her head. "Bkka..." "Eika 'ta kesar... sen, bet y'osiu nozet tiiet..." Linnae Julyyta Rino said, standing and leaning on the divider. She was a slender Vayttian, with waist length white hair, which sported yellow dyed tips, matching her wide yellow eyes. Her skin was a fairer shade of red. "Ereyorac, 'to re 'ta je sui Jekr, sui Unityy..." Geratuc said. Ereyorac turned slowly. "Ereyorac'to?" "Ji," Geratuc nodded, with a small smile. "Peq Julyyta'ta h'epec hucoor xeria!" Julyyta waved her hand. "Ereyorac'ta hw'irii-lizot! 'ta cizonae nis!" Ereyorac jumped up and ran around the divider, pulling Julyyta into a hug. "Zenu Julyyta'to!" Julyyta rubbed Ereyorac's back. "'ta w'ker-tert. Ereyorac'ta w'griic z'hammora!" "'to ki..." Ereyorac pulled out and nodded, tears in her eyes. "Terakensa neke nis 'ta ni'jik mizra," "Ereyorac'ta? Hii 'to w'fozae ju? 'ta hw'iqars riyya ani Ereyorac'ta grii-dezu!" Geratuc folded her arms Ereyorac jumped. "Ji!" she ran to her desk and grabbed her bag, and was about to bolt out of the doors before there was a ring. She stopped and reached into her bag, touching the phone. "Ereyorac'to ke-ura," "Ereyorac'ta..." came the voice on the other end of the phone. She sounded worried. "Ereyorac'la nyr... 'ta w'nyrnri!" Both Ereyorac's mouth and phone dropped.
