Stardate 92535.8: The Dawnstar is assigned to Deep Space 13 - Gemini Squadron
Stardate 92559: Engaged in first live combat situation since being commissioned. Ship & crew performed admirably under threat of hostile actions.
Stardate 92616.2: Despatched to perform S&R Mission after the USS Legacy. The Dawnstar sustained heavy damage to hull and engineering resultant from an attack which utilized local spatial conditions. The crew narrowly averted a core breach.
A number of the following upgrades have since been recommended back to the Odyssey Construction Programme at Utopia Planetia who have implemented them as a new standard for all vessels of the class. USS Gainsborough is the first off the line with these new features as standard.(*)
Hull plating reinforced to Type-5 Alpha across strategically significant regions including but not limited to: Impulse exhaust ports, sensor arrays & nacelle pylons.*
Secondary and tertiary impulse engine ports fitted to the dorsal and ventral aspect of each nacelle pylon to aid in strategic maneuvering.
Fitted with a prototype Quantum Slipstream Drive. Awaiting field test for activation.
Warp power transfer regulators have been re-sequenced affording an improved and consistent power flow under extreme test conditions.*
All holographic bridge consoles have been retrofitted with secondary backup emitters embedded into the surface of the console behind the primaries. These are designed to take over and tested to <0.5secs changeover duration, in the case of failure to a primary due to malfunction or damage.*
