With the second year cadets slowly finding their way back into a normal routine now their training cruise is complete, they have a lot to catch up on. It's a good thing they have friends and family from the Venator still around preparing to depart on their new mission. What could possibly go wrong...

Kayleigh@crystyl | Life has quickly returned to normal for the Heart cadets. While the second years settle back in to catch up on their academics, many of the other cadets are now enjoying their midyear breaks

Kayleigh@crystyl | Many remain at the Heart, so as Mari and Kay sit down for their lunch they have a lot of familiar faces around them still

Kayleigh@crystyl | Leandra enters the quieter than usual canteen and after getting something to eat, heads over to join the pair

Mariel Tanglao@anncaris waves as Leandra joins them, "Hey Leandra! How're things going?"

Mariel Tanglao@anncaris | Leandra sits down at the table with her tray of food, "Oh, studies are going pretty good so far. How about both of you?"

Kayleigh@crystyl:"We have a lot of catchup still. Are you taking extra classes during break, or just staying local for convenience?"

Mariel Tanglao@anncaris | Leandra: "A bit of both. My sister's around for a little so I wanted to stay local, and I thought I might as well take some classes while I'm here."

Kayleigh@crystyl:"Logical. But then, would it be more accurate to say your sister/s/ are here? Since there are two of them in the Heart now if I'm not mistaken"

Mariel Tanglao@anncaris | Leandra chuckles, "True, but the others might be clones of her, or alternate reality versions or...it's hard to keep track. Anyways, I don't really /know/ the others, though. There's only one -

Kayleigh@crystyl:"Very much so, yes. However the Venator is not the only ship taking time to resupply before it's next mission. So we too are making the most of the time"

Mariel Tanglao@anncaris:"I wonder what's going to happen with T'Pia's grandfather, now he got that pardon from the President."

Kayleigh@crystyl:"Yes, she is also dealing with reunited family at present. Given our previous interactions with him, I would not be surprised if he took the opportunity to try once more to get closer with his family

Mariel Tanglao@anncaris | Leandra: "Maybe I should visit the Terran Rianni...you said she was staying, do you know how long?"

Kayleigh@crystyl shakes her head, "I am afraid that our tour of duty took us away for too long and I am yet to fully absorb the details of events we have missed here"

Rianni@crystyl:"Eugh, I don't know about that. Sometimes I feel like I never even got to really be a cadet"

Rianni@crystyl:"I'm glad you're getting to relax and avoid all the annex madness. Unlike some of your classmates though, what /was/ all that about with those two at the end of the awards ceremony?"

Rianni@crystyl | After finishing their drinks, the gang head out and Emma hears back through the Venator that the Terran was apparently released from custody. A little digging with the Nuhar and they quickly -

Rianni@crystyl - discover that she is currently in the fleet project building. Assuming and fearing the worst, they rush over there...

Mariel Tanglao@anncaris | Leandra looks around as they arrive, "Don't think I've ever been here before..."

Rianni@crystyl:"Me neither. Heard plenty but never actually seen any of it"

Mariel Tanglao@anncaris | Leandra: "Now where could the other you be, I wonder?"

Rianni@crystyl looks to T'Pia, "She got arrested trying to steal a ship from here before right? Or somewhere like this at least, so where's the most likely place she'd go?"

Mariel Tanglao@anncaris | T'Pia: "Well last time, it turns out the ship she wanted to steal wasn't even intact. Maybe she's learned from her mistake and is going to check what there is to steal this time? Or am I -

Mariel Tanglao@anncaris - giving her too much credit? She's clearly not as smart as you, seeing what happened before."

Rianni@crystyl chuckles, "Maybe, guess we'll find out! So assuming she wanted to find out what is where, where's the best place to do that?"

Mariel Tanglao@anncaris | T'Pia: "There's a few places, but I think she'd probably go for the most obvious, which is the control room for the docking areas. C'mon!"

Rianni@crystyl nods, "Lead the way!" and jogs off after T'Pia

Rianni@crystyl | The group make quick time in covering the distance to the docking area control room. On arrival, they find the area to be deserted, save for one figure working away at a console in the far corner.

Mariel Tanglao@anncaris | T'Pia excitedly leads on through the facility, soon approaching the control room. She slows as they approach, "This place has a lot of people though. It would be hard to get in if she's not -

Mariel Tanglao@anncaris - supposed to be here, so I'm sure we'll see some sign if she's forced her way in..."

Rianni@crystyl | Emma looks around, "I'm not seeing any signs of forced entry... Not seeing any signs of anything in fact..."

Mariel Tanglao@anncaris | T'Pia: "That's probably not usual either. It's a busy spot..."

Mariel Tanglao@anncaris | Leandra is meanwhile looking around before pointing, "Hey, I think that's her!"

Rianni@crystyl looks over, "I knew it! She's up to no good again! I don't think she's seen us yet, we have a chance here..."

Mariel Tanglao@anncaris | Leandra nods and whispers, "Want us to block the way out or something?"

Rianni@crystyl nods, "Yes, you girls cover the exits there and there-" she points, "- I'll try and get the jump on her"

Rianni@crystyl | With the others moving into position, Rianni starts to carefully sneak her way up towards the Terran

Rianni@crystyl gets right up close and can see it clearly is the Terran, working away so eagerly she fails to notice Rianni's approach

Rianni@crystyl dives and tackles the Terran from behind, "Got you!" sending the pair tumbling over the console

Rianni@crystyl | There's a lot of thrashing and rolling around, but Rianni eventually manages to pin the Terran down, sitting on her chest and holding her arms to the floor, "I've got her!" she calls back

Mariel Tanglao@anncaris | Leandra rushes in, "Good work sis! Your plans have been foiled again, uhh...other sis from a different universe!"

Rianni@crystyl | Terran stops thrashing and looks around confused for a moment, "Leandra?!" and glares at Rianni, "And YOU! What the hell are you doing?!"

Rianni@crystyl:"That should be obvious! We're stopping you from escaping again!"

Rianni@crystyl smacks her around the back of the head

Mariel Tanglao@anncaris | T'Pia: "By that logic, there would be a lot of ships you had the right to steal. Including the Venator..."

T'Emp@anncaris | T'Pia: "The club is called Queens. It's got like a special class of VIPs called Queens, which apparently Kayleigh is one. But the rest of us should still be able to get in, we just have to -

Mariel Tanglao@anncaris | Leandra: "It's uhh...just a gathering between some old friends, from their old ship. They heard about your recent awards and all and wanted to meet you!"

Kayleigh@crystyl hrms, browsing through her wardrobe, "So this is specifically targeted at me then?"

Mariel Tanglao@anncaris | Leandra: "Well, both of you, since you both got awards and all!"

Kayleigh@crystyl:"I see. That makes a little more sense I suppose. Still, this sounds like it may warrant a slightly more formal attire. But then you said it is a small group of friends... but then the venue is set -

Kayleigh@crystyl:- at Queens... but then it is still early in the day..." she mutters, rifling through countless outfits and discarding comical amounts over her shoulder as she narrows her search

Mariel Tanglao@anncaris | Leandra: "Wow. That's...a lot of outfits."

Kayleigh@crystyl tosses another one that drapes over Kit who's sitting on her bed. She wriggles out from under the growing pile and yips, seemingly in agreement

Kayleigh@crystyl glances back at the pile, then to Leandra with a perked brow, "Very perceptive. How did you ascertain that the majority are held in the adjacent wardrobe?"

Mariel Tanglao@anncaris | Leandra: "Wait, there's even /more/ in the other wardrobe?"

Kayleigh@crystyl:"Well naturally. Hold on, were you saying this seemed a lot?" she gestures to the bed

Kayleigh@crystyl:"Of course not. Mari often makes use of them as well" she steps over and opens the other 'wardrobe' which is actually jsut a door into what should be the adjacent quarters, but is now a big walk-in..

Kayleigh@crystyl:"I assumed this was why you came to retrieve us straight from the temple, so that we would have sufficient time to prepare"

Rianni@crystyl | The line is long as always, but not so much as it would be at prime time

T'Emp@anncaris | T'Pia: "I've certainly seen it longer before, so that's a good sign."

Rianni@crystyl:"This place looks intense! You've been here before? What can we expect?"

T'Emp@anncaris | T'Pia: "I've only been inside once before. It's a big and popular club, lots of people, dancing and everything! Kayleigh's much more of an expert than I am..."

Rianni@crystyl:"Well we got that much already!" she chuckles, "So what's the plan from here?"

T'Emp@anncaris | T'Pia: "Well, Leandra will bring Kayleigh to us. Maybe only you will be there to start with, and then we signal the Terran to approach and surprise her? Or both of you can be there together, -

T'Emp@anncaris - but she'll definitely know what's up as soon as she sees two of you."

Rianni@crystyl:"Sounds reasonable to me"

Rianni@crystyl | Terran, "What, straight to the punch line? You realise we could actually mess with her a good bit until she catches on right?"

Rianni@crystyl:"Yes, because our different outfits and hairstyles will in no way give us up to a Vulcan"

Kayleigh@crystyl | Drawing up to the entrance, Kay is welcomed like a VIP by the Klingon bouncers, much to the intrigue of those within view near the front of the queue

Kayleigh@crystyl gestures to the others while talking with the bouncers, who then promptly extend the same welcome and usher the group inside

Kayleigh@crystyl is - as always - absorbed by the crowd even on this first level, with her face being well known to staff and regulars alike the group soon find themselves with conceirges bringing complimentary -

T'Emp@anncaris | T'Pia looks to the Terran as they wait for their drinks, "So, what are clubs in your reality like? Are they as dangerous as anywhere else, or do you Terrans actually relax and have fun -

T'Emp@anncaris - sometimes too, and it's not all just war and betrayal?"

Rianni@crystyl:"You say that like there's a difference?" she snorts, "Nah, I'm just screwing with you! Of course we let our hair down at times!"

T'Emp@anncaris | T'Pia: "I thought you would! And...you don't get backstabbed when that happens?"

Rianni@crystyl:"Not if it's a quiet night normally. A good stabbing is how you know it's a good time!"

T'Emp@anncaris | T'Pia: "Right, so lots of bar fights..."

Rianni@crystyl | Emma chuckles, "Pia honey, you should assume everything this one says is lies. Or at least embellishment, especially when she knows you can't verify"

T'Emp@anncaris | T'Pia: "True, but I'm still curious! There's got to be more to their universe than the aggression we see, because most of our encounters with them have been conflict or at least on their ships -

T'Emp@anncaris - and starbases. A whole society can't survive entirely on conflict. Maybe their civilians are more ambitious in their own ways, but still peaceful. Competing through economics like Ferengi, -

T'Emp@anncaris - and leaving the war to the military types we're more familiar with."

Rianni@crystyl:"We all fight with the weapons available, that's just basic"

T'Emp@anncaris | T'Pia: "What about other species in your universe? Is it true they are all subjugated under humans, well, Terrans? Or at least the ones in your territory."

Rianni@crystyl nods, slamming a drink, "Of course. It is the natural order of-... um, yeah yeah, that's the way it is... pfft, go figure right..." she backtracks after realizing she's the only Human in the group..

T'Emp@anncaris | T'Pia: "And no other species have been able to defeat you so far?"

Rianni@crystyl:"The Empire's had it's share of usurpers rise up, but none have made it so far"

T'Emp@anncaris | T'Pia: "What about outside threats? Were things like the Klingon Empire or the Dominion ever a major threat to you like they were here?"

Rianni@crystyl shakes her head, "The Empire has long been too much of a dominant force for the likes of any of those to really hold their own. They try, sure, but it never works out"

T'Emp@anncaris | T'Pia: "And then they get absorbed into the Terran Empire too?"

Rianni@crystyl:"Assuming they survive"

T'Emp@anncaris | T'Pia: "You mean...you just completely wiped some out?"

T'Emp@anncaris | Nikki: "Partly. I hear your people are trying to formalize the Coalition, and the Republic's definitely joining as part of the old Alliance against the Iconians. I'm getting the Star Empire -

T'Emp@anncaris - involved too. Between both factions being members of the Coalition and my ties to the Republic, it should make the reunification process smoother."

Emma Ralde@crystyl nods, "I get it, yeah. Starting as allies within the Coalition lays a foundation for further reunification. Assuming the Republic's even got designs on that"

T'Emp@anncaris | Nikki: "D'Tan wants to unite the Romulan people too, but it takes more than just the people in charge wanting it. There's a lot of animosity among the people, so we need to ease that over. -

T'Emp@anncaris - The Muso Pact was a start, being allies in the Coalition takes it a step further. Soon, we'll be ready for unification, or so I hope."

Emma Ralde@crystyl smiles, "Well, the fact that you are now leading the Star Empire, should serve well against that animosity too!"

T'Emp@anncaris | Nikki: "That and the fact that a lot of the Imperial commanders and officials who were involved with crimes against the Republic are dead or locked up after the recent war."
