Even has a drink on there somewhere no doubt Gabriella@drcrippler grimaces as she watches her water being whisked Patsy@turtles#8407: Scene setting | The crew of the Valley Forge had been sent on a medical mission to a federation colony to deliever food and medical supplies, after completing their mission the Valley Forge simply Gabriella@drcrippler takes the whisked water and checks the bartender's stare. "I like my water whisked," she states matter of factly and drinks it Patsy@turtles#8407: cruised along awaiting it's next assignment and met up with the Macapline and the two crews have been enjoying some down time together, currently in 10 forward some crew members are enjoying some Patsy@turtles#8407: refreshments which were supplied by the colony as a thank you for delievering the supplies.... and action Cecilia@hawkecosse#4702 smiles as she gets her tea "Ta!" before she turns with a slight nod to Brie as she does so Patsy@turtles#8407 Sips from her small tea mug and reads from a PADD T'Pia@crystyll 's tongue pokes from the side of her mouth as she concentrates, tapping a stylus against her temple as she studies Zhyl'ia@thecastellan is using her visor to have a nap Patsy@turtles#8407 10 forward is bustling with crew members the majority of tables are full of staff but none are really eatting instead they are simply enjoying a few drinks and games Gabriella@drcrippler orders an Aguapanela and then moves to find a seat. Cecilia@hawkecosse#4702 walks over towards the table T'Pia is at and is covered in PADDs as she slowly sips her tea as she walks "Hey...mind if I join you?" Oh wait, no, it's the MacAlpine Patsy@turtles#8407 After a short while the chef comes out from behind the kitchen and places some bowls along the bar and calls out to all the staff "I have prepared some of that food that was provided by the locals Patsy@turtles#8407: if anyone would like to try some!" he heads back into the kitchen right after T'Pia@crystyll glances up, "Hm? Oh! Sure!" she smiles, "Just, err... shove those out the way..." she sweeps her arm across the table to clear some space Keliaya@anncarise steps into the room and nods to Patsy as she passes by, "Hello Lieutenant." NARRATIVE: During a standard resupply of Alesia Colony, the Valley Forge was gifted a package of local delicacies by the colonists. After departing the system, we rendezvoused with the MacAlpine for the next assignment. However, when Captain Skye and Cadet Skye came on board, individuals across the ship began to fall unconscious. The captain and much of the bridge was quickly incapacitated, leaving Commander Zh’Zhavis in command for most of the crisis.

Scans of victims of the infection failed to reveal any sign of health issues, though the patients were clearly unresponsive through visual and physical checks. Any attempt to determine how the infection was being spread or the initial source of the outbreak were initially unfruitful and we could not identify any unusual agents in the ship that could be responsible.

Having been subject to the infection myself as well as attempted treatment on numerous patients, I can testify to its effects. Symptoms of infection begins with minor signs common to all sorts of illnesses, such as sweating and a general sense of weakness. Progression onto the second stage, which consists of nightmarish hallucinations, appears to vary greatly from patient to patient depending on their physiology and immune system strength. This is quickly followed by the onset of the third stage, unconsciousness, which is visualized by the victim as the hallucination attacking.

Unfortunately before I or anyone else in sickbay could identify and treat the infection, we were affected and lost consciousness. The remainder of this report is pieced together from patient testimonials and recorded data by Sayu-Ihaie Dos Take Nos Sunu, Mana's drone. A few officers and civilians who managed to resist the affliction joined in sickbay where Sayu managed to isolate the cause of the infection with a multiphasic scan.

Apparently a parasitic lifeform was attached to the epidermal layers of all affected via osmogtic tendrils, and its feeding from the bloodstream resulted in the degradation of cellular peptides. The parasites exist in an interphasic state, which explains why medical scans failed to reveal them. It was determined that an interphasic pulse on the right frequency would be able to combat these parasites and the remaining people on board quickly went to work attempting to determine the frequency and configure a deflector pulse to cleanse the entire ship.

Most of the crew, including the senior officers, were already out by the time they arrived at the deflector controls. Only T'Pia and Sayu (who being an AI is immune) remained to work on the deflector pulse. Before passing out, Nurse Mount managed to work out the frequency, and Sayu was able to upload the information to the ship computers for T'Pia to finalize the deflector configuration and disinfect the Valley Forge.

RECOMMENDATION: A followup investigation conducted by medical and transporter personnel revealed that the parasites came with the batch of food received from Alesia Colony. More of these creatures may be on the planet and we should relay our findings to them as they may also be in danger of infection.
