BIOGRAPHICAL HIGHLIGHTS

Iona grew up in New Chapel, a small village a couple miles from the east bank of the Colorado River in mid-western Arizona.

Her childhood was fairly uneventful for most of it, New Chapel grew in size while she was growing up going from a small village when she was born to a small trading town by the time she was 6. With the Legion conquering more and more, it resulted in more people arriving at New Chapel to seek shelter. But with the increase in the number of people, it grew the Legions attention, and by mid-2267, New Chapel had been sacked by the Legion. The majority of the population of New Chapel was enslaved by the Legion with the rest being crucified.

Iona was a Legion slave for ten years until in 2277, while being taken to another camp a squad of NCR Rangers attacked the squad of Legionaries escorting her and the other slaves. The battle was over quickly as the Rangers, using the advantage of their better weapons were able to take out the Legion troops in short order and then set about freeing Iona and the slaves. The Rangers had been on their way back across the Colorado river to return to NCR territory in the Mojave when they stumbled upon the slaves so decided to take them with them.

It was on their way to the Colorado river that Iona killed her first-person. A Legion patrol stumbled into their group, and in the confusion one of the Legionaries grabbed Iona to drag her away. She was scrabbling to get free of his grip and found the hilt of his knife, drawing it and thrusting it upwards into his chest and under the ribcage. Managing to kill the Legionary and get away, Iona takes off in the direction they were going until she reaches the river and a group of Rangers guarding a couple boats.

Having been taken into NCR territory and freed from the Legion, she vowed to have her revenge against them and started training for when that day would come. Over the next four years, Iona becomes a freelancer for hire while she wanders the Mojave, going where ever a job takes her. Until 2281 with the build-up the 2nd battle of Hoover Dam when the NCR hired her to help the NCR against the Legion which she was more than happy to do.

Following the end of the 2nd battle of Hoover Dam, Iona went back to freelancing after getting into a disagreement with her NCR handler regarding her pay and salvage rights. She continued taking work, travelling far and wide until the end of 2281 when she was hired by a group that was looking to travel to the East coast and needed extra protection. They did not set out until mid-2282, the journey was not an easy one due to difficult terrain they had to cross, bandits and wild creatures. Many died on the long march east, but in the end, after almost two months of travelling, Iona with the few remaining survivors of the group reached the Commonwealth. With nothing behind her, Iona sets herself up in the Commonwealth and starts looking for work.
