BIOGRAPHICAL HIGHLIGHTS

Cadet Kayleigh is a Vulcan-Human hybrid. Raised by her Human mother (and named, after her mother's sibling who was lost when they were young) while her Vulcan father worked almost exclusively on long distance exploration with the Science Academy; she found herself growing up as the typical Starfleet brat, though her mother mostly worked within the Sol system so this did not carry quite as much travelling as those born to starship based officers.

During her second year as a tactical cadet, Kayleigh and her mother relocated to the newly settled Heart of Unity - the first facility occupied by a new Coalition of species towards the galactic rim of the Alpha Quadrant. This Iconian Sphere has seen it's share of bloodshed under it's former alias as the Heart of War, including recent events. But the coming together of the Coalition has ushered in a new era for 'the Heart' and it's new residents. With her father transferring to a Starfleet vessel based from the facility, the family decided to reunite for the first time in Kayleigh's memory. Much to her own distaste however for the inconvenience of being uprooted from her established standing and routine at the academy in San Francisco mid year.

Though she clearly makes every effort (sometimes too much) to maintain a front of Vulcan stoicism - unhealthy obsession with all things cute and pink not withstanding - those like her classmates who persevere long enough find the emotions run a lot closer to the surface in Kayleigh than she likes to let on. Most commonly brought to light through embarrassment when her hidden vice as a shopaholic gets discovered. Also contrary to the front she always puts up at first, she seems to enjoy the company of others far more than she lets on, feigning a desire for solitude and meditation but somehow managing to become everybody's friend and something of a local celebrity at the local shopping district...
