Alex Horrigan unlike her older brother did not work as a bodyguard for the president but was one of the scientists who worked on the FEV experiments and when she saw what it did to her brother she thought she could make it even better but without the side-effects of turning you into a super mutant and while she was partial successfull with her tests she did not have a willing test subject so she decided to use herself as the test subject and while her experiment was somewhat successfull with giving her enchanced strength that could almost rival her brother and it also increased her already high intelligence but i failed in giving her the speed and agility increase that it gave her brother. and a another side-effect was that she needs a weekly dosis of her specialised FEV sample to keep her mutation undercontrol.

and when the Chosen One destroying the Enclave Oil Rig and killed her brother she joined Autumn Senior when he fled too Raven Rock in the Capital Wasteland but when John Henry Eden plans with Project Purity failed she decided to once again to go into hiding with a few of her own Enclave soldiers. And this time in an area where people had their own troubles with the elusive institute in the old boston area of America.
