BIOGRAPHICAL HIGHLIGHTS
The Protection and Personal Assistance Drone, nicknamed PAPA by the design team, was a cancelled Armali Council project. Meant as both a personal assistant and a self-defence tool, the PAPA drone’s primary function is to manipulate dark energy and create mass effect fields. The mass effect generator built into the drone is one of the most compacted ones created to date, allowing the drone to produce stronger fields than almost any other piece of technology of its size.
The PAPA drone uses its mass effect fields to perform menial tasks such as lifting objects. It has a combat subroutine which allows it to utilize the fields to lift or repel enemies in a way similar to biotic combatants. The PAPA drone can also form a weak protective barrier around an individual to briefly protect them, though such an action uses the full power of its generator and prevents it from creating other mass effect fields. In addition to these functionalities, the PAPA drone can tap into the extranet, allowing it to search for information at a moment’s notice. To broadcast this information, it is equipped with a voice module.
The PAPA drone project was shelved when it was discovered that the price it needed to sell at to compete with other drones on the market was far too low and could barely cover the cost of manufacturing its powerful generator. Only nine prototypes of the final design were created. Aliya was gifted one by her friend Dr. Salorn, one of the lead engineers on the project. The PAPA drone was originally intended to have a new VI designed just for it, with a ‘fatherly’ personality to reflect the name, but as the project was cancelled before this stage, the VI installed in the prototypes is a generic information drone model.
